3 Introduction
3.1 Project Summary
3.1.1 Objectives
A complete salary payment solution for enterprises/companies in the form of a Prepaid Card.
Eliminate the use of traditional instruments like cheques and liquid cash.
Reliable and convenient option for making salary payments to the associates.
Instant or same day card loading with funds.
Safe and Secure payment instrument.
3.1.2 Background
Usually the contractors/Enterprises face tax audit issues due to excessive cash withdrawal for paying contract
employee. As per recent tax laws, banks deduct TDS; if the cash withdrawal is above a threshold limit.
In the era of digitization and cashless universe, there are some segments of companies in existence, who pay
their contract/temporary employees using old payment instruments like liquid cash and cheques. Payments via
cheques may take up to three days to realize funds. While the payment via cash is a cumbersome process which
includes handling different denominations of currency and time in distributing the right denomination to the
employees.

3.3 System Perspective
3.3.1 Assumptions
For integrating with payment gateways we can reuse existing payment gateway interfaces like
VISA/Mastercard.
The card issuance process takes less than T+6 days, as this is a KPI for card success.
3.3.2 Constraints
The cardholders cannot use UPI payment options
The cardholder cannot use other banking services like creating Term deposits & enabling NACH
The cardholders cannot transfer funds to bank account or other cards.

4 Business Process Overview
Business process would include basic functions like issuing card after accepting the KYC and mobile no.,
loading the card every month, Re-issuance of a lost card and processing the transactions at various point
of sales.
Pre-paid card solution, designed to be used at a corporate/entity level. The respective corporate/entity
must register themselves with the bank by giving the entity KYC documents. Post which, a request for
the card issuance to be placed along with the KYC of end-users. Cards are issued by the bank against the
respective end-users after validating the authenticity of documents. End-user can use the card for cash
withdrawals at any ATM, Cash deposits at the banks, POS machine transactions and in online payment
gateways.

Loading the card with desired amount can be done with a request from the entity with details of card
and denomination. Bank shall process the card load request after checking the funds availability in entity
account.
Lost card issuance will be done after the end-user reporting the loss to the customer care and blocking
it. Card loss will also be reported by the end-user to the entity, through whom a new card issuance
request can be raised. New card is issued by the bank after disabling the lost card and cross checking the
KYC.

5 Business Requirements
5.1 Functional Requirements
5.1.1 Bulk uploading and reloading facility
Corporates can upload and reload any number of cards at any time unlike with cheques, which need to
be signed and distributed to each employee separately.
5.2.2 Security
Encryption – All external communications between the system’s data server and clients must be
encrypted.
5.2.3 Capacity
Throughput - System need to be able to handle 0.5million transactions at peak time.
