WHAT IS AN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN
An advertising campaign is a series of advertisement messages that share a single
idea and theme which make up an integrated marketing communication (IMC). An
IMC is a platform in which a group of people can group their ideas, beliefs, and
concepts into one large media base. Advertising campaigns utilize diverse media
channels over a particular time frame and target identified audiences.
Advertising draws attention of the potential consumers to a product. Advertising
informs potential customers of the products functions and features. Good
advertising creates a demand may even create a brand identity for a product or
series of products.
To Inform-
Advertisements are used to increase brand awareness and brand exposure in
the target market. Informing potential customers about the brand and its
products is the first step towards attaining business goals.
● To Persuade-
Persuading customers to perform a particular task is a prominent objective of
advertising. The tasks may involve buying or trying the products and
services offered, forming a brand image, developing a favourable attitude
towards the brand etc.
● To Remind-
To reinforce the brand message and to reassure the existing and potential
customers about the brand vision. Advertising helps the brand to maintain
top of mind awareness and to avoid competitors stealing the customers. This
also helps in the word of mouth marketing.
