“CBAA: The Corporate College”

The College of Business Administration came into existence in 1983 and became the College of Business
Administration and Accountancy in 1994. It became Corporate College since 1997. Three years after, in 2000, its
Corporate Arm, the CLSU-CBAA Foundation, Inc. was established.

Being Corporate: What is it about?

University Code Article 61. The College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA)
Section 1. The management philosophy of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy is to help
sustainable agro-industrial development that leads to the improvement of the quality of life of the people
through quality education in business entrepreneurship.
Section 2. Its main objective is to produce competent graduates qualified and ready to assume managerial and
leadership roles in the fields of accounting, human resource development and management, marketing
management, business economics and other related disciplines.

Corporate Vision: The CBAA as a center of excellence for business and management education in Central Luzon
Corporate Mission: To serve as a catalyst for better quality of life through excellence in business and
management education
Corporate Thrusts: 1. Academic excellence 2. Entrepreneurial competence
Corporate Values: “CHIRLF” – Commitment, Honesty, Innovativeness, Risk-Taking, Loyalty, Fairness
Corporate Leadership:
 Initiates bold strategic changes to position the college in a competitive world
 Articulates a clear vision and disseminates it vigorously
 Stimulates and inspires faculty, staff, students and alumni to action
 Creates a learning environment that prepares the college constituents to address the challenges that lie
ahead.

Corporate Management
Entrepreneurial management that creates an environment conductive to entrepreneurial
development of faculty, staff and students through actual exposure to business practices and active
involvement in hands-on experience on small and medium enterprises and other income-generating
projects.

Corporate College Objectives


 To harness CBAA resources, facilities and expertise in managing income-generating projects;
 To lessen the dependence from university subsidy and attain flexibility on fund management;
 To provide opportunities for the students, faculty and staff to earn while learning; and
 To enhance entrepreneurship education through the exposure of students, faculty and staff to actual
business operations and hands-on experience on small and medium enterprises and other income-
generating projects.

The CBAA Logo:


The CBAA logo has been conceptualized to symbolize the philosophy, vision and mission of the college. The
upward arrow in three lines connotes the aiming for excellence of the CBAA in the three major areas of knowledge:
the academe, research and extension. The dots symbolize the convergence of intellectuals who are aiming to learn
to become well-rounded individuals through the auspices of a corporate college. The college is interfaced with
external linkages so that it can be a globally competitive institution. This is symbolized by the globe-shaped form.
The letters: CBAA are abstract incorporated (hidden) in the logo.
