New Developments in fischer FireStop

Personal changes within the Firestop department:

After 19 years with fischer, we will have to accept that Dave Hanrahan has decided to leave us
in August and look at new opportunities within the industry. Whilst we all will miss his drive, crea-
tivity and visionary
thinking, the Firestop department will
still support you as usual:
Next to Constantin Wiegert, Marion
Leipersberger will support the busi-
ness as a Product Manager for Fire-
stop, together with Patricia Kamm
and Natalia Pakosch. Additionally,
Steve Finsterbusch of the façade
team will assist with fire test planning
and assembly to further develop our
product range.

Knowledge Chain

Mixed Penetrations, Multiple Penetrations, Combined Penetration...what’s the difference?

 Multiple Penetration Seals: Where more than one service of the same type (e.g. cables
or pipes) pass through
 Mixed Penetration Seals: Where more than one type of services (e.g. cables and plastic
and/or metal pipes, but no ducts or fire dampers) pass through
 Combined Penetration Seals: Mixed penetration seal with fire ducts or fire dampers
passing through
Currently, there is no testing standard which allows to test combined penetration seals. Neither
under UL nor EN testing scheme. If you see such applications on site, these must be incorrect.

Project of the Month

Project of the month is the “Mall of Oman” which will comprise
400 stores including a Carrefour outlet, Snowpark, cinema
complex and an amusement park. The fischer fiae team won
the entire firestop scope of the project. The project will run
until 2021. fischer could compete in given extensive consul-
tancy and on-site training to the involved people.
