CHAPTER 1:

PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT

This permit us to briefly present the economic, social, and environmental
context, and show how the imagined product will solve and contribute to the daily
problem of fleet management and individuals with vehicles and show how the
project is important.

1.1.1. PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT

The project is concerned with the tracking system of vehicles fleet management with
the help of the NAVSTAR-GPS SYSTEM which for acronym “ Navigation system with
time and ranging- global positioning system” this GPS bring solutions to one of the
problem that exist for several years today that human being had to know by asking
several possible ancestral questions like;

- What is my actual position?

- Where should I go to reach final destination?
- What distance will I cover to reach destination?
- What is my speed?
- At what time will I reach at destination?

This business is very important in the social life of people who have vehicle and also
companies with fleet management and this will lead to;

- Cost optimization of companies

- Reduce number of accidents in circulations
- Reduce the stealing of vehicles
- Ease the location of vehicles in fleet etc.

In the same direction concerning the economy this business boost the economy of
not only the enterprise but also the development of the country this tracking system
highly reduce the cost of vehicle maintenance because there is not over use of
vehicles and also with this fuel consumption is easily controlled and this highly reduce
cost at every level and leading to the growth of enterprise and country through the
cost optimization.

NAVITRACK SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY

The most important situation of this business is that the political stability or instability
of the country will not affect the business because the GPS came to existence
because of wars and this was established in 1973 by the US ARMY and was therefore
developed in the context of the cold war and this was of greater help and therefor
penetrated the civil market successfully. So if the business is to be created it will be
suitable in case there is instability that it will not affect the company in any but will be
of more security for people vehicles and human security in one way or the order, by
so doing one can say that the social, economy and political situation will affect the
business more positively than negative part of it.

That is why we had that vision to create this business which we see it to be more
profitable in the short run and more profitable in the long run because this business
is more of safety and security of human and vehicles.

CHAPTER 2:

ANALYSES OF THE PROJECT

This chapter deals with the feasibility studies like marketing feasibility study,
technical and legal feasibility of the business and also financial feasibility of the
business plan

2.1.1. MARKET ANALYSES

The tracking system in Cameroon started in the military wide spread

recognition in the 1990’s and has now become a business that many business people
will like to go into. Statistics has is that close 70% of demand of GPS tracking module
has been met. Why is it so? Statistics also has it 80% are already understanding the
security that the gps module does for their vehicles.

Companies in Cameroon has already understood the importance of the global

positioning system and business is now necessary due to the advent of new
technologies improving every day in Africa and in the world in general particularly in
Cameroon. In this business here in Cameroon there more than 5 companies operating
in it, there the business can cover the whole territory and even other areas out of
Cameroon and therefore you are one of the chosen and few to enjoy what it has to
offer.

On daily bases large number of vehicles are under control and more than 15 clients
can come for the company services and it have to be taken in to high consideration in

WRITTEN AND PRESENTED BY WAMBA LILIANE,JEANIS MANKAH,EGBE EBOB

NAVITRACK SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY

order to attempt to meet with customer satisfaction. Yet the demand seems to
reduce and this indication shows that we need to increase the tracking service
demand in the whole country.

a) Target market

With the location of our business in littoral, central, and west, North West and
southwest regions, and we hope to enjoy huge patronage of the large population
here. The following are our target market:

 TRAVAILLING AGENCES
 ENTERPRISES
 SHIPPING ANGENCES
 WAREHOUSES
 PERSONNELS
 CONTAINER DEPOTS

We are planning with 500 GPS module for tracking for 500 vehicles per month. We
will make effort to have quality satellite and module of last generation for our clients
and tracking within and out of the territory and suitable localization and
immobilization of vehicles and sending real time statistics report to our clients.
Having out our feasibility analysis and research on our target market and location
where our GPS module will last for 5years and unforeseen maintenance can be made

b) Buying behavior

As a new business that is just starting, also considering the location of our business,
we will installing our product basically on cash and checks but can consider giving
credits to our potential clients who have high number of vehicles under our security.

NAVITRACK SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY

2.1.2. COMPETITORS ANALYSIS

Our main competitor in the tracking system tech is CAMTRACK and NH2T and
from our analysis the GPS module is 10.000 FRS per car but they have limited
maintenance to achieve were have to offer quality maintenance and localization base
on the permanent roaming with integration of direct sim card directly at the
production of module so that when the vehicle go out of the country the module is
still operational and this at lower cost.

Also there the high protection of vehicles against theft at real time thanks to the GPS
roaming and the intervention forces to take back the vehicle, we will have google
map and also open street map which will permit us to have better carto graph that
our competitors, the mobile application will be free for the directors and all the fleet
will benefit for a free in order to collect real time information’s with a unique code
for connection which will be available on google play and appstore

It is possible to have a report from each vehicle concerning the fuel consumption in a
period and number of kilometer covered which will be send automatically than our
competitors. There for we will make the supervision easier and effective. The
business will relatively low expenses with few staff presently to match with quality
security, safety and maintenance of vehicles.

a) Benefits to clients

This business will lead to the cost optimization for vehicle maintenance, protection of
people against accident or stealing of vehicles and fight for the development and
improvement of enterprise operations at real time there by spending less on vehicles
and the maintenance of the vehicles fleet.

2.1.3. THE ECONOMICS OF THE BUSINESS

 REVENUE DRIVERS AND THE PROFIT MARGING

The end of the product of the GPS MODULE, is when it is install in the vehicle that is it
has been sold. Unlike the magnetic key which is also a buying product that can be
sold in order to make more profit.

Our revenue drivers, will be the sale of the GPS MODULE and the installation and
some time the magnetic key in case the client loss or break his or her magnetic keys
and the maintenance. When we buy a GPS MODULE at 20 thousand, when install in a
vehicle it is 10 thousand per month for the localization with 100 VEHICLES monthly
the revenue is 1,000 000frs and this module last for 5years and the annual revenue
will have a total of 12,000,000FRS it is a big revenue driver for us. So we have to work
hard so that this is achieved.

2.1.4. MARKETING PLAN

a) Marketing strategy

The demand for GPS is non-seasonal commodity, we have plans to reach out other
markets in the north for more sales and better profits, and we plan to also employ
the services of the available professional technicians for maintenance, we are also
planning to contact more suppliers for our equipment’s to target in our market.
Therefor the marketing strategy will be done in this way.

 Encourage our loyal customer to help use word mode of advertisement

 Advertise our gps car tracking installation and maintenance business in
relevant magazine, local tv, local radio station
 Promote our business online via our official website
 List our business on local directories (yellow page)
 Sponsor relevant community programs
 Leverage on the internet and social media platform like; Facebook twitter and
promote our brand
 Direct tax mailing approach
 Engage on road show from time to time to targets communities in and around
Douala akwa
 Distribute our fliers and handbills in Douala-akwa.

b) Opportunities or problem in the market to be addressed

The main problem that justify this business plan is the absence of notoriety and
visibility of the mobiles equipment on the field. Some actors and futures clients were
complaining on the fact that the actual situation of the management is that;

- It is impossible to know the exact position of the vehicle in the automobile

park

WRITTEN AND PRESENTED BY WAMBA LILIANE,JEANIS MANKAH,EGBE EBOB

NAVITRACK SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY

- It is impossible to disposed statistically fables on the movement of vehicles in

the fleet.

The opportunities of this future system that will be put in place are many and we can
list some such as;

- It permit the health service to be on the field of intervention by choosing the

suitable vehicle
- Permit to easily track stolen mobiles
- Permit the distributing enterprises to distribute their product at real time

This business established itself in a dynamic logistics management of enterprises that

do not have a visibility on the equipment but once in the field the fleet can easily be
controlled by so doing, HENRY FAYOL will be the first person to study management
his approach was in 5 components (prevent, organize, command, coordinate and
control (POCCC)) staying on the reflection bases on the functioning if the fleet
management direction and this precise area of maintenance is the main challenge of
this business as mentioned above.

 SPECIFIC STRATEGY

Marketing strategy is a process that can allow business venture to concentrate its
limited resources on the greatest opportunities to increase sales and achieve a
sustainable competitive advantage. Our marketing strategy is centered on the key
concept that customer satisfaction is the main goal. Without customers we cannot
survive or exist.

We intend to use market penetration as our marketing strategy. This is because

sellers of this don’t buy many modules for sale. So since we would be opening our
own tracking system company, we will like to take the market by penetrating, making
the wholesalers an individual buyer to buy from us. We intend to achieve this as we
already have new customers and market demand, aggressive promotion and
installations.

WRITTEN AND PRESENTED BY WAMBA LILIANE,JEANIS MANKAH,EGBE EBOB

NAVITRACK SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY

 TRACKING SYSTEM PRODUCTS

Our products are highly needed by customers concerning this market. There is great
need for the demand and installation of the gps module. We intend to have last
generation tracking modules and beat down others in this market.

 PRICE

Our product price would be fair to those in our target market, we have greater
advantage as buying from us means the buyer would not incur maintenance cost. We
have considered our prices and have seen that renting from 10.000FRS would give us
profit than those selling at this price and making the client pay for maintenance and
this price is almost the same bench mark with the market price.

 PROMOTION

At the initial or first installations, we intend to draw customer’s attentions to our

company and maintenance by offering by offering customers discount on total
installation operations this discount would be given as below;

 Above 30 GPS MODULES 1.5% DISCOUNT

 Above 90 GPS MODULES 2% DISCOUNT
 Above 150 GPS MODULES 2.5% DISCOUNT
 Above 500 GPS MODULES and above 5% DISCOUNT

c) Distribution

Our product would be available at the sale room and can be demanded and installed
at all time where buyers can come to buy for installation such as individual buyers,
car agencies etc.

3.1.1. DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN

 Development status and Tasks

The company we be located in DOUALA town and this will be till the company start
improving with many installations and have many clients in the market once we reach
the 500 to 1000 installations, we will start importing our product and become as
wholesalers. We will flood the Douala sectors with our tracking modules and with
suitable maintenance. Also our second target which is Yaoundé (center region) and in
the future continue in order regions.

The tracking company will be accommodated by two office for the starting that will
divided inside in order to have different small offices. And lastly and small room for
our equipment storage house. The building is normal and well-constructed for
suitable working conditions and in future we will enlarge the building as we still have
hopes to grow as our installation rise.

Light to the company will be supplied to the company by the government source but
we will have 10 KV generator as stand by power due to the constant need of light for
operations.

As will be invested into the business as start-up, we the partners would manage the
company but we would make use of few laborers.

 CHALLENGES AND RISK

Tracking system service is a very lucrative business and a profit maker all year round.
The reason for its probability can be attributed to the fact that it is for safety, security
and cost optimization and it is always needed in society. In fact the need for the GPS

tracking module can never be as we want because people do not know the real
importance of this technology especially here in Cameroon.

As any activity venture, tracking service involves risks. This risk if manage carefully
could be minimized, as they have potential to make the business unprofitable. Some
of this challenges and risk include:

 GPS module which are not waterproof and this can occur if the GPS module is
not of the last generation and due to this there can be a risk if the vehicle
reaches mountainous areas it will not be emitting because there will a signal
problem between the module and the satellite and hence leading to loss of
vehicles and non- emission of vehicles.
 The technical characteristics of the vehicle that is to say that if the company do
not emphasize mostly on the friability of the module. The scope of the module
have to be suitable that is, should react everywhere and at any time in which it
can signal the location and situation of the vehicle there for the module should
have the rigor.
 PROJECTED DEVELOPMENT COSTS

We intend to create more maintenance services all over the national territory and
with this capacity, we intend to expand our installation to 10 To 20 thousand
vehicles. And warehouses’ for our stock and sales of GPS module.

Among our future plan is to also purchase trucks hauler to facilitate the selling of our
modules and with this we intend to dominate the whole markets.

3.1.2. OPERATIONS PLAN

General approach to operations

 Actual Process

The GPS tracking module is install where there is the km watch in the car and after it
is connected to the car battery and hence tested in accordance with the satellite for
emission and once it is done hence information can be controlled by the company
through the geo-localization platform that is from the satellite to the GMS
communication system and from there to the system server and hence to the
platform for any information about the vehicles.

 WHY COMPANY IS SITED

The company is sited in Akwa due to a host of different factors which include the
presence of many companies’ agencies and activities which make it growing with high
population, and different people from different part of the country. This give us an
advantage in terms of tracking system installation demand.

Labor is another reason for choosing this particular location. The AKWA community is
characterized by a population where many enterprises occupy more percentages of
the population and most of this companies have a high fleet management of vehicles.

Another reason is the fact that with time the company intends to be hiring students
as there are many universities in this area especially those in the logistics and ICT
department as workers in the company either on interim bases (in case of
undergraduate) or permanent basis (in the case of graduates) with the presence of
the university, the company is expose to information about new technologies and
technics and this will improve our research and development.

CONCLUSION

Reaching the end of our business plan analyses, where the question was to develop
on the plan which is the tracking system technology via the global positioning system
(GPS) application. We have understood that since the year 2000, the technical
localization have introduced itself gradually in our daily life. It varies with different
tools such as (GPS, MOBILE PHONE and WIFI). This technology brought enormous
advantages to enterprises, particularly on vehicle fleet management, agriculture,
logistics chain, safety and human security. The system equally open doors and
established some branches on marketing department base on the geographical
situation. For individuals, the use of this systems is drivers’ base on (sport and leisure
services via the geo-social media). This technologies is already promising for the
future but it is still new and with this title, this poses a certain number of problems
like the non-emission of the GPS in mountainous zones but this will be solve rapidly
by operators that will cover the national territory and bring more development.
