A: and Auhluksuh Sonih

Both: You're watching Philippines' Kalikasan Alagaan- talk show! *insert sounds
again habang gapalingkod sa chairs*

||

A: As you may know, to come up with such a big and meaningful show like this took us a
lot of research and concerns.

S: So, to start up our program, we have invited some guests to discuss experiences and
activities that lead to harming our soil.

A: 1st guest, a brave woman from a remote village of Brgy Bartuhon. Let's welcome Ms.
Jamila Espanola. *sound effects again anything*

( Naglingkod na) *Sound effects palakpak*

 Then muduol sd si Shan sa kilid ni Jam, ga stand up lng.

A: we have here our translator, Ms. Shan Tembrevilla. Since Ms. Jam is Bisaya.

S: For the information of everybody, she can understand english language but can't
speak it well.

S: So, hello good afternoon, how are you feeling today Ms. Jamila?

Jam: Maayong hapon Ma’am Aleksa ug Sir Shon! Daghang panghitabo atung niagi pero
maayo nako karon.

Shan: Good afternoon Ma’am Aleksa and Sir Shon! A lot happened recently but for
now, we’re doing fine.

A: Okay, we're glad to hear that you’re doing fine.

S: About the recent landslide in your brgy, *project pictures sa landslide sa tv*

*lantaw ta sa screen

S: how was the experience?

panghitabo. Pakalit raman gud ang tanan.

Shan: Until now, my heart still feels heavy everytime I think about what happened.
Everything went so fast.

Bartuhon.

Shan: The storm was strong but ever since, we’ve never experienced landslides in
Barangay Bartuhon.

Jam: Wala jud mi nakahuna-huna nga mahitabo to nga trahedya sa amoang lugar.

Shan: We’ve never thought of such tragedy to happen in our place.

A: Are there any casualties?

Jam: Akong balay!

Shan: My house!

Jam: Ang balay sa akong Silingan!

Shan: The house of my neighbor!

*pause, sobs*

Shan: And the house of my neighbor’s neighbor!

Jam: Pati amoang mga manok! Ug akoang pinalanggang mga iro!

Shan: Even our chickens! And our beloved dogs!

Wala najud dagay to! Naguba ang
tanan sa uska piyong! *starts to cry*

Shan: I don’t know where there are now! They’re probably gone! Everything was
destroyed in a blink of an eye!

A: What do you think is the root of this problem?

S: Is there anything you’ve noticed in your barangay lately, that could be a possible
cause of such unexpected happening?

Jam: Sa tinuod lang, wala gyud ko kabalo unsa gyud hinungdan nganong nikalit ramag
kahugno ang yuta namo sa barangay Bartuhon.

Shan: Actually, I really don’t know the reason why landslides unexpectedly occurred in
our Barangay.

Shan: But ma’am and sir, me and my neighbors suspected that the deforestation
they’re doing lately in our barangay caused our land to loosen up.

Jam: Nagatuo mi nga usa nis rason nganong nahugno among yuta, nga sa kadugay
namong gapuyo diri, karon lng mn gid ni nahitabo.

Shan: We believe that this is one of the reasons why landslides occurred in our
barangay, that after a long time of living here, this is the first time we’ve experienced it.

Shan: Actually, we really regret it. That even if we’ve already seen the wrong doings
here in our barangay, we didn’t do anything.

Jam: Gipasagdaan ra namo nga gub-on nila among kalansangan ug putlon among mga
kahoy!

Shan: We let them destroy our forests and cut down our trees!
S: It’s so sad to know that you experienced first hand this calamity.

A: Indeed, we hope that our audience have reflected on something important, right?
*audience reaction

*insert sound effects like transition* before we move on, KA-Talk Show will get back to
you after a short break.

*COMMERCIAL BREAK* 2 kabuok

S: *sound intro* And now we’re back! *pause*

S: So, Ms. Jamila, what is your advice to our fellow viewers, or not just the viewers but
to everybody regarding this issue?

Shan: What I can say is that ‘regret comes later’.

Jam: Og di mo layhan mahitabo tu ninyu. Kung naa moy makita nga dili maong
ginabuhat sa iyung lugar nga tan aw ninyu makaguba sa atung palibot, aksyoni dayun!

Shan: If you don’t want such tradegy to happen to you. If you see activities in your area
that you think may harm our environment, do something!

Shan: Since we can’t bring back time.

Barangay Bartuhon, wala gyud niya gipasagdaan ako ug akong pamilya.

Shan: After all, I’m still thankful to God for keeping me and my family safe despite the
horrific landslide that happened in our barangay Bartuhon.

A: We hope this would be an eye opener to everybody. Thank you for your time, Ms.
Jamila Espanola.

S: and also to our amazing translator Ms. Shan Tembrevilla. We appreciate your
presence.

Jam: Daghang salamat ma’am Aleksa ug sir Shon!

Shan: Thank you!
