OBJECTIVE
Guarantee the effectiveness of the counting
of medical-surgical devices used in the care
of patients.

This guide applies to all personnel who
work in the services of Instituto del

Surgical medical devices are
instruments, tools, machines, testing
devices or implants used to prevent,
diagnose or treat disease or other
conditions.

What is a surgical Oblit?


An "oblito" is defined as any object or
foreign body thatremains
unintentionally within a body cavity or
surgicalsite after the patient leaves the
operating room.
