In Brgy. Dila, Bay, Laguna, Philippines, the Sangguniang Kabataan barangay council decided to bring the
goods online instead, owing to the fact that during a pandemic, their public market became extremely
congested. In an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the municipality of Bay established limited
window hours and designated days when residents in particular barangays may go out and purchase
necessities; this resulted in long lines in public markets. After weeks of brainstorming with their youth
volunteers, the SK Councils came up with a more modern solution to this issue and launched a project
for an online palengke.

The Talipapa Online can only accept deliveries two days a week because there aren't enough SK
volunteers to staff it. The cutoff time for orders on Mondays and Wednesdays is 4 p.m., and deliveries
can only be made for every order on Tuesdays and Thursdays. People are hoping that the SK will be able
to deliver more during the week in order to assist households that are unable to make large purchases.

Convenience

After the pandemic happened, the people tend to be more careful when going outside especially to the
place where there are a lot of people. Because of the current scenario that we presented; we came up
to the idea of “online talipapa market”. On this venture, we will not only be helping this people to keep
safe from the virus and keeping the crowds at the market. But also, it will help them to have a freedom
to buy and shop at their own place and convenience. Equally, to our single parent who finds it difficult to
go in the market and leave their child at home.

Accessibility, and Engagement with E commerce

This effort is open to everyone for the reasons that many people have access to the internet and some
of them are actively engage to their own responsibilities. Due to the fact that the majority of people
already have a Facebook account, unlike other online markets, our talipapa market will be built on a
Facebook business page, making it far more accessible to the individuals and consumers.

Sathya Rangasamy study the problems faced by the consumers in online shopping in Coimbatory City,
India. Since online shopping is more prevalent now, the problems associated with it acts as a hindrance
or setback for online selling businesses. According to the respondents of Rangasamy’s study, majority of
them experienced problems in online shopping.

One of them is product quality; typically, the goods' quality falls short of what is depicted in the photos.
Due to increased competition in the e-commerce sector and the proliferation of websites serving as
marketplaces for sellers to list their goods, the problem of dishonest sellers is increasing. The logistics
are a mess, which is a second problem with online shopping. Except for a few websites, distribution and
logistics can be a big problem. Websites are becoming so careless with product delivery quality that
packages are now frequently damaged in transit. Third, Due to the restricted range of payment options
and the growing threat of online theft, most customers prefer paying cash on delivery since they are
wary of disclosing their credit card information. This has become a common complaint among buyers
recently. They do not have a lot of reliable payment options. Lastly, the unclear website policies, when
the policies section isn't correctly specified, that the sellers might deny a customer's request for a return
or refund.

Reasonxxx:

These scenarios and problems that encountered by the consumers from the beginning to the present,
are the reasons why we decided that our venture will be based in online market. Aside of making things
accessible and convenient for people, we also want customers to feel at ease, relieved, and comfortable
when making purchases from our online market, by making our products subject to and evaluated by
quality tests; ensuring that the goods/products they will purchase will deliver safely and in good
condition; utilizing cash on delivery and secured payment options that will help to increase the
customers' level of confidence; and creating better and clearer policies and information.
