TUM School of Management

Entrepreneurship Exchange program (EEP)

in collaboration with the

NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) in Singapore

Target group: TUM School of Management undergraduate and


graduate students with interest in “Innovation and
Entrepreneurship”
Scope of the program: TUM students will get the opportunity to do an off-
campus internship at a start-up company in Singapore,
whilst undertaking courses in the area of Management at
NUS. With this scheme, NUS and TUM support students
who wish to develop both their entrepreneurial and
intercultural competencies.
Number of places: 10
Length of stay: at least 5 month (Jan-May OR Aug-Dec)
Expected final qualification: official EEP certificate, Transcript of records from NUS, a
reference from a Singaporean start-up company
Language of instruction: English
Application Semester: B.Sc. students can apply at least in their 3rd semester and
M.Sc. students in their 1st / 2nd semester
Application Deadline: December 2022
for program start in August 2023 OR January 2024.

Documents to be submitted:
▪ Current Transcript of records AND for graduate students Bachelor Degree
▪ Abitur / Baccalaureate / A level certificate
▪ CV including personal statement, qualifications and other skills (in English) => please
use the NUS template: CV Template
▪ DAAD Language Test English or equivalent (C1)
▪ Matriculation certificate

After submitting your documents, you will receive a confirmation via email at the latest on the
following working day after the application deadline. It is not possible to submit further
documents after the application deadline.

Selection procedures:
The application process consists of two parts: the pre-selection and an interview.
The pre-selection is made on the basis of the submitted documents.
A rejection or an invitation to an interview will be sent to the candidates by email mid-January.
An additional application for the exchange program "TUM SOMex (incl. Erasmus)" is possible.
In the case of successful nomination for the Entrepreneurship Exchange Program the
application for the "TUM SOMex (incl. Erasmus)" is automatically annulled.

Timeline:

Please be aware that a participation in this program could extend your study at TUM. It is
each student’s responsibility to, jointly with the respective Program Manager, determine
whether and how this exchange fits with the student’s degree plan and whether the courses
taken may be recognized for the TUM degree. This program can be recognized at TUM as
“International Experience” in the Bachelor’s program “Management & Technology”.

The following elements are included in the program (subject to change):

- Internship at a start-up company in Singapore (at least 5 month) and Business


Start-up Case (in sum equivalent for Project Studies (12 ECTS))

- Participation in business related courses at NUS (in sum 12 ECTS)

12 ECTS (8 NUS credits) for courses and 12 ECTS (8 NUS credits) for TR3203. Please note
that the described courses are tentatively and a change in these courses is not excluded.

• Do note that some courses may vary from intake to intake but
generally should be quite similar to what is listed here.

With participation in this Joint International Program the prerequisites for “International
Experience” (B.Sc.) 3 ECTS or “Advanced International Experience” (M.Sc.) 6 ECTS are
fulfilled.

Costs:

- Journey to and from Singapore: 800 – 1,500 euros


- Personal and living expenses (incl. accommodation and food): ~1,000 euros per
month (it is possible to live on NUS campus)
- Additional costs for individual plans

Financial support to the trainee is not guaranteed and depends on the enterprise.

FAQs:

Can I also apply for the "TUM SOMex (including Erasmus)" exchange program?

Yes, parallel application is possible. Should you receive a nomination for the Entrepreneurship
Exchange Program, your application for the "TUM SOMex (incl. Erasmus)" will be
automatically annulled.

Where can I take the DAAD Test in English?

Our TUM Language Center offers the DAAD Test in English at regular intervals, free of charge.

When should I apply for the program?

In the 3rd semester or later for B.Sc. students and in the 1st or 2nd semester (always winter
semester) for all TUM School of Management Master’s Programs.
