Activity 7.1: Identifying Personal and Physical Aspects of Classroom Management

ANALYZE
Analyze the different elements of personal/ physical classroom management and answer the
following question.

1. How does the voice of the teacher affect classroom instruction?

Answer:voice is a very important asset

for a teacher. If it is used well, the
voice can capture
the student’s attention and
initiate involvement with the
teacher and subject matter. A
moderate loud and a clear/good
voice of a teacher is one of the most
important elements of
personal classroom management.
In terms of classroom
instructions, the voice of the
teacher should be clear and loud
enough to be heard in the entire
classroom so that all the

must speak an authoritative way in
order for him/her to be respected by
the learners.
Answer: As a future teacher, I know that the voice of teacher is most valuable asset. We
rely on our voices to a great extent, and with it we transmit not only information, but also mood,
atmosphere and emotions. When utilized effectively, a teacher's voice may capture a student's
attention, spark interest in the subject matter, and encourage participation. One of the most
important aspects of effective classroom management is the teacher's voice, which should be
clear and loud enough to be heard across the whole classroom while giving orders. This will
force all students to pay attention and listen intently throughout class discussions. A teacher
must also talk in an authoritative manner in order to command the respect of the students.
Moreover, how we speak and what our voice sounds like have a crucial impact on classes.

2. How does the punctuality of the teacher affect classroom discipline?

Answer: The instructor's punctuality and behavior reflect on the students because if the
students can see that their teacher is on time or punctual, they will do their best to emulate such
behavior. However, if instructors consistently arrive late and exhibit laziness in the classroom, it
will have a bad effect on management and discipline.

3. Why do we need to check on the physical aspects of classroom management?

Answer: We need to check on the physical parts of the classroom management in order
for both the teacher and the learners to have a smooth flow of discussion and learning activities
and ensure the safety and order of the class.

REFLECT
Reflect on the aspects of personal and classroom management.
1. What does this statement mean to you as a future teacher? Explain. “No amount of good
instruction will come out without effective classroom management.”
Answer: Classroom management is a process, as well as a set of skills and strategies,
that teachers and schools use to create and maintain appropriate behavior of students in the
classroom. Proper classroom management creates an ideal environment for learning. This is
important for teacher and student safety, happiness and productivity. A successful classroom
management system will help prevent teacher burnout and reduce the need for yelling, scolding
or other stressful discipline methods that cause friction between teacher and student. This kind
of environment enhances learning, as well as social/emotional development. However, without
classroom management, children can’t learn when they are distracted by inappropriate
behavior. In a poorly managed classroom, children learn that serious engagement with serious
subjects is not valued. They learn that self-discipline and hard work aren’t necessary. In short,
poor classroom management stunts children’s social-emotional development. When they don’t
face consequences, children don’t learn to regulate their own behavior. When children see their
teacher’s attention drained by classmates’ misbehavior, they learn that their own needs don’t
matter. A well-managed classroom thus allows meaningful teaching and learning to take place.

2. What are your plans in ensuring effective classroom management?
Answer: Student behaviors like shouting, not paying attention, avoiding work, disrespect,
refusal, and engaging in power struggles take teachers focus away from teaching and students’
focus away from learning. My plans to avoid this situation are to ensure effective classroom
management by get to know each student as an individual. Build rapport with them based on
trust and understanding. Second, practice patience with rational detachment. Third, keep and
be consistent to what schedule, rules and regulations you set. Fourth, I will be aware of learners
cause of behavior like being mindful of precipitating factors—preexisting circumstances that
cause distress behavior—and early warning signs to help me focus on prevention. Like for
instance, if a student seems consistently irritable or inattentive in the morning, could hunger be
causing the behavior? I will keep in mind that classroom management is not just about avoiding
student disruptions but about creating an environment that enables students to focus on
learning.

Activity 7.2: Demonstrating Knowledge of positive and no-violent discipline in the

management of learner behavior.
REFLECT
As a future teacher, reflect on the observations then answer the given question.
1. What classroom management strategies do I need to employ to respond to diverse types of
learners?
Answer:
The strategies I need to employ to respond to diverse types of learners are:

 Ensuring that cultural awareness is promoted in the classroom by starts with

understanding each individual student’s cultural background, hobbies, learning styles,
and what makes them unique.

 Maintain consistent communication

 Acknowledge and respect every student

 Practice cultural sensitivity

 Incorporate Diversity in the Lesson Plan

 Give Students Freedom and Flexibility
