Parametrization of the on Board Computer

We take to your knowledge that the on Board Computer initial parametrization, concerning the lubricating oil
class, may fix values 228.4 to 228.6, not corresponding to the lubricating oils available in our market.

Therefore and taking the exposed into consideration, we reiterate our recommendation with regard to verifica-
tion/correction of the on Board Computer parametrization, when carrying out the 1st Revision, in such a way as
to register the value really corresponding to the applied lubricating oil class (class 228.1 or 228.3).

We call your attention to the fact that an eventual incorrect parametrization may result in not correct intervals of
revisions and, consequently, in damage for the components.

In order to facilitate we are presenting again in succession the procedures for verification/correction of para-
metrization, already appearing on pages 193 and 194 of the corresponding Operating Instructions Manual:

Ask for, check and modify the engine memorized oil data

Attention!
The engine memorized oil data must coincide with the class and viscosity of the oil existing in the engine, on the
contrary the engine may be damaged

Ask for and check the engine oil data

— Turn the ignition key to the position of march (connected)
— After finishing the operation control, compress twice the button SYSTEM.
— Compress repeatedly the button INFO until that the indication “Oil quality” appears in the viewfinder, after the
indication “Engine”, and (for example) “228.2-.3” (Class MB).
In the Lubricants Booklet, consult the engine oil Class and recommended viscosity.

Modify the engine oil quality

If it is necessary to modify the engine memorized oil quality:
— Compress the button RESET and keep it compressed.
Compress in addition the button QUIT. Repeat this procedure until that the class number of the oil existing in
the engine appears in the viewfinder. Release the button RESET. The last indication showed in the viewfinder
will be memorized.
— After the engine oil quality indication, compress again the button INFO. The indication “Oil viscosity” and Class
SAE (for example) “15W40” will be showed in the viewfinder.

Modify the engine oil viscosity

To modify the engine oil viscosity:
— Compress the button RESET and keep it compressed.
Compress in addition the button QUIT (confirmation). Repeat this procedure until that the Class SAE of the
engine oil existing in the oil sump will be showed in the viewfinder.
Release the button RESET
The last Class SAE indication showed in the viewfinder will be memorized.
Cancel the indication:
— Compress the button QUIT (confirmation)
