NU's Second Win-Streak Attempt Failed.

By: John Ver B. Orongan

After winning against the FEU Tamaraws last Friday, NU Bulldogs failed to get the second win-streak
against the unbeaten Blue Eagles last April 2, 2022, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The men in gold and blue were behind 10 points off 64-74 as the men in white and blue dominated the
entire match until the end of the quarter.

The Eagles came out to a solid start as the Bulldogs needed the help from their bench to stay in the game.
In the second half, they maintained their tough play against the Blue Eagles, cutting the deficit to one
point (60-59) early in the fourth quarter. Torres led NU with a total score of 14, while Felicilda and
Clemente each scored 10 and 12 points for the Bulldogs– all three coming off the bench.

With 2:20 left in the game and Ateneo only ahead by 3 points, 67-64, the Blue Eagles instantly embarked
on a 7-0 run to put the attempt of comeback of the Bulldogs firmly ungripped.

Verano delivered the closing touch to cap the ballgame, leaving the NU Bulldogs hopeless at 64-74.

The National-U Bulldogs shall attempt to regain their momentum as they play their sixth match against
the UST Growling Tigers.

Quarter scores: 20-14, 41-33, 58-50, 74-64.
