“Not happy with your job, find one that will make you happy. Don't let
excuses, such as, I'm too old to change jobs, or, it has been years since I
went for an interview, or, at least I know what is expected. Excuses and
procrastination will keep you stuck.” (Catherine Pulsifer)

Today, not many people work their dream job or consider their current job as a career. A
considerable amount of those people are probably not satisfied with it or using it as a steppingstone for
a future career.

Those who aren’t satisfied are most likely not considering changing their job as an option.
Personality traits such as laziness or procrastination are often attributed to an unhealthy mentality. Such
a mentality can keep you from making big steps in your life and miss good opportunities. Thus, it’s
important to change your way of making decisions, be more active and confident in oneself.

On a more important note, the biggest thing that may influence your outlook on finding a job
you enjoy is the fear of change. Such a fear can be the main culprit of all the aforementioned personality
traits which lead to an unsatisfactory lifestyle. It makes the person uncomfortable with making any
changes to their everyday life or breaking a routine. Even if there are better opportunities, they would
rather stay the way they are and not try to “come out of their shell”. Breaking a habit of monotony in
your life can lead to big changes which might make you think more critically about the decisions you
make.

With everything taken into account, the fear of change is a trait that may lead to more negative
traits like laziness and procrastination. In order to find the job that will make you happy, one must find
the courage to get out of their comfort zone and have a more curious outlook on life. 268 words
