REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TIME FOR E-FILING OF THE SALES TAX RETURN
TAX PERIOD “JULY – 2020” - FOR URGENT CONSIDERATION

Dear Sir,

As you must be aware of the fact that the FBR rolled out the updated Sales Tax Return for the month
of July 2020 not later than the 13th of August, 2020.

Needless to mention that date of issuance was followed by three consecutive gazette public holidays,
which leaves only Monday 17th August, 2020 to submit the due Sales Tax properly.

This is besides the other issues i.e. date of furnishing of Annexure C, which was 10 August 2020,
date of payment of sales tax, which was 15 August 2020 and unless these two are done, sales tax
return could not be submitted the due date of which was 18 August 2020. You would appreciate that
unless, Annexure C was made available which is part of sales tax return and which was made
available on 13 August 2020, payment of sales tax could not be made. . As the due date for
submission of Sales Tax has already passed without any extension, which was very much
necessitated, we request you to extend the dates of e-filing the monthly Sales Tax Return for the Tax
Period “July 2020” as well as the other due dates, at the earliest convenience to facilitate the
taxpayers.
