MIDTERM EXAMINATION
EFA EDUCATION FOR ALL

Education is one of the most important things that a person should achieve at
this stage of their life. This serves as the key to the success of every young
person now and in the future. One of the things that our government gives
importance to is the strengthening of Philippine education. The implementation of
EFA, education for all, is one of the most important things in education that
happens. Everyone, especially those who are out of school, pregnant, or
overage, has the right to continue their education. The purpose of EFA is to
continuously improve the performance of every school. increase the scope of
early childhood development. Create an alternative learning system using
nonformal and informal interventions to maximize EFA advantages such as the
ALS. EFA also encourages the use of effective teaching methods. The EFA is a
vision and comprehensive reform plan for our nation that aims to provide every
Filipino with enhanced basic education by 2015. Its main objective is to provide
everyone with the fundamental skills necessary to achieve functional literacy. If
we are going to look at the overview of EFA, it includes the following: The first is
the ECCD, or early childhood development. Based on what I have read, ECCD is
given to a learner at an early age. This provides a checklist for learners that will
show their readiness for schooling. This is also a way to give them help for those
categories that they have not really met at their age. This will give the teacher a
hint about the learners' weaknesses or development activities that they need to
improve or develop. Once a learner develops their learning and motor skills, they
are promoted to the preparatory level. There are a lot of daycare centers in the
barangay that help a learner develop the basic skills that are needed in the
ECCD checklist. The ECCD focuses on different approaches that will apply to
different types of learners; slow, fast, and others. There is also a feeding program
for them to improve their nutritional status.

Second is the universalization of quality primary education. This provides a

different learning modality for students. They also focus on the school and parent
partnership, where they involve the parents in different activities in school. From
this, the parents are aware of the learning development of their child and the
different programs in school.
The EFA objectives are that no one will be left behind. All school age children
should be in school. Out of school youth, dropouts, and special children are
encouraged to enroll and continue their schooling. This gives them another
chance to finish their studies. Each student must complete a ten-year basic
education. EFA aims to improve and expand the quality of early childhood
education for vulnerable and disadvantaged children. They also emphasize the
importance of gender equality. They encourage the girls and a high percentage
of out-of-school youth to enroll and continue their studies. They have the chance
to finish and choose a delivery mode that is suited to their needs.
Based on what I have read, there are a lot of challenges in the implementation of
EFA in our country. First is the slow-paced improvement. It says that one cause
of this is the immediate transfer of the school head to another school and their
plan for the EFA project being paused or stopped because the incoming school
head has another project in mind.
Another is the persistence of disparities and marginalization. That some of our
Ips and Muslim group are being isolate from others because of their culture. But
now we have the MADRASA, that offering instruction in Islamic subjects. There is
a teacher that handle and known about the Islamic subjects and teaching.
