I. OBJECTIVES Identify the effect of mixing two solid materials.

A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate understanding of changes that materials undergo
when exposed to certain condition
B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to evaluate whether changes in materials are
useful or harmful to one’s environment
C. Learning
Competencies Describe what happens to the solid materials when mixed with other solid
or Objectives materials.
D. Most Essential Describe changes in properties of materials when exposed to certain
Learning conditions such as temperature or when mixed with other materials; (S4MT-
Competencies (MELC) Ig-h-6)
(if available, write the
indicated MELC)
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Content Mixing solid and with other solid materials
B. References Science 4 Modules, Science LM.
C. Materials PowerPoint, video, pictures, c
III. LEARNING STRATEGY
A. Preliminary Activities Drill
A. Review:
What are the different changes happened when solid materials
expose to temperature?

B. Motivation: Show some picture, Identify the following picture to the

class.

B. Developmental Presenting the Lesson

Activities How heterogeneous differ to homogeneous mixture?
Discussion:
The combination of two or more solid materials is called mixture.
Heterogeneous mixtures are those that retain their color, size, and shape.
Their solid particles can be separated. The mixture that has almost the same
color, size and shape. Combined solid particles which cannot be recognize or
distinguished at once I called homogeneous
C. Generalization What happen to the two solid materials when mixed?

D. Application Directions: Tell whether the solid mixture is heterogeneous or homogeneous

Heterogeneous Homogeneous

Powder milk and corn starch sand and gravel

Noodles ang spaghetti sauce peanuts and green peas
Rice grains and corn seeds coffee granules and sugar

IV. EVALUATION Directions: identify the mixture below. Write homogeneous or heterogeneous on
the space provided

1. Menudo
2. Chopsuey
3. apple and grapes
4. ginataang bilubilo
5. cement and gravel

V. ASSIGNMENT Give at least 5 examples of heterogeneous and homogeneous
