Laboratory Tools Manipulation Mrs. Marcia Tatoy Cabatuando

Task 1
DATA
Object Mass in Grams Weight in Grams
1. 100 ml 51.6g 51.6g
Beaker
2. Pestle 76.6g 76.6g
3. Iron Fillings 95.3g 95.3g
in a 50ml
beaker
(brim)
187 mL of Water 187g 187g

Task 2

Materials Needed:

 Water
 Tumbler
 Beaker
 Triple Beam Balance
 Notebook
 Pestle
 Graduated Cylinder
 Ruler
Procedures:
1) Fill a water tumbler to the brim, Measure the Volume (Can be in oz, ml, or L)
2) Find the weight of the beaker (m1)
Add water to the beaker and measure its total weight. (m2) Subtract the
weight of the beaker (m1) from the total weight (m2) Convert g of water
to ml, 1g of water = 1 ml.
3) Find the Length, Width, and height of the notebook in cm. Multiply the length, width, and
height.
4) Add water to a graduated cylinder and measure the first volume (v1), Place the pestle
inside the graduated cylinder carefully. Measure the second volume (v2), Subtract the
first volume (v1) from the second volume (v2)

V= v2 - v1

Task 3
Materials Needed:
 Stirring Rod
 50 ml Beaker
 100 ml Beaker
 Erlenmeyer Flask
 Glass Funnel
 Graduated Cylinder
 Weighing Scale
 Triple Beam Balance
Procedures:
1) Put a 60ml water in the Graduated Cylinder.
2) Put some 12ml of acid to the 50ml beaker.
3) We then put the glass funnel into the Erlenmeyer Flask and pour the 60ml of water
after.
4) We then add the 12ml acid to the Erlenmeyer where the water was in.
5) Stir it until well combined.
6) Lastly we then get the Mass and The Volume of the Dilute Acid by weighing and triple
beam balance it.

Our Mass: 150.4 - 233 = 72.6

Volume: 73

Task 4

Material needed:
 Stirring rod
 Glass pipette
 Glass funnel
 Graduated cylinder
 100ml beaker
 Triple beam balance
 Weighing scale

Procedures:

 Weigh the mass of an empty 100ml beaker using triple beam balance
 Prepare an 8ml of orange propylene glycol using a glass pipette and temporarily store it
in a 50ml Beaker
 Use a 100ml beaker to prepare a 56ml of water
 Pour the 8ml of orange propylene glycol into the water while stirring
 Get the mass of the solution using a triple beam balance. Subtract the mass of the
empty container from the mass of the solution
 Transfer the solution in a graduated cylinder using a glass funnel

DATA
MASS OF MASS OF
100 ML SOL.
BEAKER
MASS 50.04g - 114.04g
= 64g

VOLUME = 64mL

Task 5
Materials Needed:
 13.7 grams of Sucrose
 88.3 grams of water
 2 Beaker
 Stirring rod
 Weighing Scale
 Hot Plate
 Thermometer
Procedures:
1. Weigh a 13.7g of Sucrose to a beaker carefully, Weight 88.3g of water to another beaker
carefully
2. Heaten the beaker with 88.3g of water to 60C, Use the thermometer to measure the
temperature of the water.
3. Once the temperature is 60C, Carefully remove the beaker to the hot plate. Put the 13.7g
of Sucrose to the hot water then Stir until the Sucrose are not Visible in the water.
Task 6
Materials needed:
1. Graduated cylinder
2. Stirring rod
3. Triple beam balance
4. 500ml beaker
5. Weighing Scale

Procedures:

- Combine Task 3,4 & 5
