INTRODUCTION

Are you ready to unleash it all?

All notes in the first riff are from E minor pentatonic (E G A B D), with the
added flat 5th (Bb). That’s all you need for your solo, but you could also try
Dorian (E F# G A B C# D). If you find it hard to make the C# note work, just
add the F# for a little bit of melodic colour!

In the second part, the Cmaj7 is slightly problematic. You can continue to
use E minor pentatonic throughout, and the added F# note will also work.
However, if you’re using full Dorian, the C# note will clash here, so drop it to
C, giving E Aeolian (E F# G A B C D) or C Lydian, depending on how you in-
terpret it. You can then return to Dorian for the 1st inversion A major chord.
