Dear foreign retirees why should you retire in my town? Retirement.

No matter how strong, powerful or rich we may be we ll all come to the point where eventually we ll have to retire. It might not be by choice but it is stated in the law that when one reaches a certain age it will be the time to rest. The crucial question is where? Where would be the best place to spend the remaining moments of your life? Ask that question to others and most of their answers would most often be Paris, Italy, Rome, England or many other famous places. But after seeing all the landmarks there is with in that country, what s next? Yes, at first it seems all so exciting with the different places and climates, foods and stuff but when you get used to it you lose the sense of excitement. It becomes a boring place. If you ask me, the perfect place would be Philippines. Why? Out of all the countries, the Philippines is made up of giant jigsaw puzzles. These puzzles are the different countries from around the world. There is a bit of everything. There s always something new. The weather changes almost every day. There s an adventure every rainfall. There s a piece of every world in the Philippines and that s why it is a mixture of many different cultures. In the Philippines, Retirement means only one thing relaxing and enjoying life that has been long overdue. Philippines, the Pearl of the Orient Seas, can surely give you the ultimate retirement experience that each one of us truly deserves. If you want to experience the cold weather there s Baguio where you can feel the cold mountain air. While for those who want to experience the sun, Philippines is also known for its wonderful beaches. From wild surfing waves to gentle and calm waters we ve got it all, good sea breezes and lower humidity a perfect time for beach parties. Since Philippines is composed of thousands of beautiful tropical islands, you can choose which island to stay and enjoy. The cool sea air breeze blowing onto your face or you can always buy yourself an air condition you could place at home and relax on the comfortable view of the paradise. If you want a piece of heritage we have Vigan in Ilocos sur, where the houses from the Spanish era can still be found. But for those who love shopping we ve got many different malls like the greenhills shopping center or the landmark and many more. The food? There s plenty everywhere. We ve got our own china town in Binondo, for those who want a taste of Asia. We re also home to the different street foods located almost everywhere. Every place is an adventure in such a small country like ours. What more can you wish for? Everything is here.

It is not just only the places or the foods found here but Philippines also have an affordable cost of living with many hospitable Filipinos. You can experience firsthand a superior quality standard of living for a very cheap cost. Your hard earned money will go a long way even further than you can ever imagine. That means having inexpensive, loyal and trustworthy live-in maids/helpers at home that will make you live your life like a king, in which would only cost about $50 a month. A quality and safe neighbourhoods with nice rental and ready furnished homes that are surprisingly and awesomely very affordable for everyone that it will give you a hard time believing a rental of about $180 a month an average, and its transportation is extremely cheap. Having your own car is not one of the must have. Jeepneys are widely used in the country. They are extremely numerous with different routes for different destinations. You can go anywhere with its cheap fares. The taxis and buses are fully air-conditioned so that you will have a comfortable time travelling either alone or with someone else. In some places of the country, a $1,000 a month could make you feel like Brad Pitt and be treated as a millionaire already. While the country s low cost of living makes it possible for retirees to be able to purchase property and be able to travel around the Philippines to explore the beauty of its more that 7,100 islands, which is a favourite activity of most retirees living in the country. It is not hard to make friends and adjust to the Filipino people. It is only in the Philippines where foreigners are welcomed, respected and admired. The people make you feel that you are wanted and appreciated. That is just what the Filipino people are. We are globally known for their hospitality with their guests. They are the friendliest and the nicest people all around the globe and Filipinos are very proud of that title! They are very relaxed and generous especially with their smiles and their services. They would gladly extend their very able hands to help if called upon. Living in the Philippines could make you feel like a royal person because of the kindness of its people. They all respect the older people which are valued, appreciated and honoured for their knowledge and their experiences. Filipinos appreciate more the importance of family, relationship with others and total respect of self rather than money and material things that claimed to give happiness. It is a joy to be with a true Filipino or Filipina for that matter. An innate part of a spirit of a Filipino is the joy of life. It is very easy to get around the Philippines even if you cannot speak Tagalog, which is the native language. Filipinos are linguists because of our ability to adapt with different languages just by hearing it often. With this ability almost every Filipino understands or speaks English. Retirement to some may be boring but retiring in a country like Philippines is just like having a new adventure. You ll never get bored because every day is unpredictable, in a good way of course.
