Three different planes are used to localize any helicopter

unit and to compute position of the gravity centre:
- a plane X located at 3.4m forward of the main rotor
head center for the longitudinal references,
- a plane Y align with ubber line for the lateral references,
- a plane Z located at 3.43m above the ground for the
vertical references,

The helicopter data are specified in the 3 planes: X, Y

and Z.
- X is the datum for the longitudinal dimensions. Its origin
is 3.40 m forward of the main rotor center, perpendicular
to the helicopter centerline.
- Y is the datum for the lateral dimensions. Its origin is in
the helicopter plane of symmetry.
- Z is the reference for the vertical dimensions. Its origin is
a horizontal plane located 2.60 m above the cabin floor
datum.

The gravity centremust be as close as the rotor hub axis

to operate the flight controls in safety condition whatever
the circumstances.
It must be located between 3.10m and 3.55m of the
longitudinal reference and between 0.10m (left and right)
for the lateral reference.

The longitudinal center of gravity is between 3.17 meters

at the front and 3.50 meters at the rear. The lateral center
of gravity is limited to 18 centimeters on the left and to 14
centimeters on the right.
