PNS ON INDOOR AIR

The Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS)

informs concerned sectors that below international standard has been promulgated as
Philippine National Standard (PNS):

PNS ISO 16000-3:2022 – Indoor air — Part 3: Determination of formaldehyde and

other carbonyl compounds in indoor air and test chamber air — Active sampling
method (ISO published 2011)

The use of this standard helps determine the safety of workplace or residential homes with
respect to the presence of formaldehyde and other carbonyl compounds that are toxic to
human health.

When implemented, this standard will contribute to the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goal (UNSDG) on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

The DTI-BPS is the National Standards Body authorized to promulgate PNS.

Conformance to PNS requirements is voluntary and may be used as reference by any
interested parties unless a regulatory authority uses the PNS as reference in the technical
regulation for a specific product or service where conformance to PNS or parts thereof
becomes mandatory.
