1. INTRODUCTION

When an airport integrates its information systems, everyone benefits, from airport personnel to
airline employees and passengers. Automatically exchanging real-time information among
systems results in more efficient airport operations. What is more, it speeds the flow of passengers,
baggage, and aircraft through the airport. Managers who can access information about all airport
activity have the key to smooth, productive operations. With integrated systems, they allocate
resources more effectively and improve on-time performance.

Today's airport authorities are faced with non-stop passenger growth. Short waiting times, constant
access to up-to-date information and smooth processes are what make an airport attractive and
guarantee that rising passenger demands are met. Navayuga Infotech’s Airport Information
Management System (AIMS) contributes substantially to meeting these prerequisites. AIMS is
currently being used by several Airports to manage information pertaining to various ongoing and
day- to-day activities in the airports AIMS is suitable for large international airports as well as
smaller regional and general aviation airports.

Airport management system, as airport software is often methodical, serve to optimize allthese
operations: passenger processing, baggage tagging and handling, arrival/departure, departure
control system, information distribution, and air traffic control (ATC).Airport software can also
include other solution, like CRMs and environmental ,management system. The airline industry is
a very particular that provide a service, which is to transport a passenger between two place at a
particular price

Airport Management is very essential in order to maintain all details regarding the fields such
as flight, passenger and other details if required. It includes details such as passenger with
fields such as name, addressphone number and passport details which will be stored in
database. Reservation details help in reserving seatsfor the passenger with other details such as
flight no, code, source and destination etc

Page | 8
1.2 Objectives
The main objective of the airport management system is to manage the details of passenger
reservation,Enquiry,Ticket Booking, Passengar. It manager all the information about passenger
reservation,Enquiry,Ticket Booking. The project is totally built at administrative end thus only the
administrator is guaranteed the access. The purpose of the project is to build an application
program to reduce the manual work for managing the passenger reservation, Booking Enquiry. It
tracks all the details about the tickets booking.

Airport management system will provide the financial and business solution on one platform. It’s
the package using which you can make reservation, increase your revenue and make future
business planning efficiently. Its user friendly graphical interface helps users to interact with the
system and meet their requirements in just few clicks. Its reservation management tool helps you
to keep updated information and providing your customers a cutting edge technology for their
journey session. It’s the system, which will have different persons who can access this system right
from the operation managers, clients, travelling agents.

 To provide some level of automation in the management of airport.

 To assist the airline industry in becoming more efficient.
 An additional enticement for their prospective customers.
 It will also demonstrate the management’s attitude, demonstrating that they are aware of
the newly introduced technology and ready to implement it.

Page | 9
1.3 proposed and Scope of the system
It’s the airport management system which has been developed keeping in view to provide
complete airline solutions. To make reservation process easier and easily under stable to
customers, flights and the details will be displayed using dedicated icons which can be easily under
stable. As far security is concern, the transactions and accession will be based on concept of
network access thus used advanced API to make E-Booking system flexible. It’s the system which
having appropriate distribution channel by which, organization can expand their business region.
There are lot more features has been added to make an effective airline management system and
some of these are: web based internet booking system, proper authentication and validation to use
correct data and eliminate the costly searching process. More optimized code with latest
technologies including inventory control and payment system to make working process easier

The goal of this project on Airport Management System is to automate the airline registration
process. The system may provide a wealth of information, including passenger information,
criminal information, and a list of all passengers, among other things. When a passenger reserves
a ticket, the technology also allows us to add records.

We use the file-handling facility of the Python language to save and retrieve data. It allows us to
add as many records as we want to our database. However, due to the inherent structure of file
handling, when we seek a certain record in the database, the retrieval process is delayed since
records are searched sequentially.

2.System Analysis
2.1) Existing System:

Today’s basic requirement under airline management system are passenger service system
and revenue management system which were not available in existing system. As per cutting throat
business environment, customers and organizations need to be update with each and every aspects.
Existing airline management system control panel was not so advanced which Procan make
frequent updation by using predefined rules, thus human intervention needed to make information
updates every time. There was no comprehensive management tool, which can helps 3 tier
management architecture to work in co-ordination and gain maximum profit. Because of lacking
in analysis, cost effective solutions were not provided to customers, thus not able to make
maximum profits.

2.2) Proposed System:

It’s the airline management system which has been developed keeping in view to provide
complete airline solutions. To make reservation process easier and easily under stable to
customers, flights and the details will be displayed using dedicated icons which can be easily under

2.3 Requirement Analysis
2.3.1 Functional Requirements
2.3.1.1 Performance requirements
 User Satisfaction: The system is such that it stands up to the user expectations.
 Response Time: The response of all operations is good.
 Error Handling: Response to user errors and undesired situation has been taken careof to
ensure that the system operates without halting.
 Safety and Robustness: The system is able to avoid or tackle disastrous action. In other
words it should be foul proof.
 Portable: The software should not be architectecture specific. It should be easily
transferable to other platforms if needed. User Friendliness: The system is easy to learn
and understand. A native user can also use the system effectively, without any difficulties.
2.3.1.2 Design constrain
There are a number of factors in the client’s environment that may restrict the choices of a designer.
Such factors include standards that must be followed, resource limits, operating environment,
reliability and security requirements and policies that may have an impact on the design of the
system.
 Standard Compliances: This specifies the requirement for standards the system
mustfollow. The standards may include the report format and accounting properties.
 Hardware Limitations: Hardware limitations can include the types of machine to be used,
operating system available on the system, languages support and limits on primary and
secondary storage.
 Reliability and Fault Tolerance: Fault tolerance requirement can be place a constraint on
how the system is to be designed. Recovery requirements are often on integral part here,
detailing what the system should do if some failure occurs to ensure certain properties.
Reliability requirements are very important for critical application.
 Security: Security requirements are particularly significant in defense system and database
system. They place restrictions on the ues of certain commands, control access to data,
provide different kinds of access requirements for different people, require the use of
passwords and cryptography techniques and maintain a log of activities in the system

2.3.2 Non-Functional Requirements
 Security
The system is must automatically log out all cutomers after a period of inactivity. The system
should not leave any cookies on the cutomer’s computer containing the user’s password. The
system’s back-end servers shall only be accessible to authenticated management.
 Reliability
The reliability of the overall project depends on the reliability of the separate components. The
main pillar of reliability of the system is the backup of the database which is continuesly
maintained and updated to reflect the most recent changes. Also the system will be functional
under a container. Thus the overall stability of the system depends on thestability of the container
and its underlying OS.
 Availability
The system should be available at all the times, meaning the user can access it using a web browser,
only restricted by the down time of the server on which system runs. A customer friendly system
which is in acess of pople around the worlds should work 24 hours. In case of a hardware failure
or database corruption, a replacement page will be shown. Also in case of hardware failure or
database corruption backups of the database should be retreived from the server and saved by the
Organizer. Then the service will be restarted. It means 24x7 availibilty.
 Maintainability
In case of a failure, a re-instalization of the system will be done. Also the software design is being
done with modularity in mind so that maintainability can be done efficiently.

3.1 ER Diagram

ER Diagram stands for Entity Relationship Diagram, also known as ERD is a diagram that
displays the relationship of entity sets stored in a database. In other words, ER diagrams help
to explain the logical structure of databases. ER diagrams are created based on three basic
concepts: entities, attributes and relationships.

ER Diagrams contain different symbols that use rectangles to represent entities, ovals to
define attributes and diamond shapes to represent relationships.

At first look, an ER diagram looks very similar to the flowchart. However, ER Diagram
includes many specialized symbols, and its meanings make this model unique. The purpose
of ER Diagram is to represent the entity framework infrastructure.

Following are the main components and its symbols in ER Diagrams:

 Rectangles: This Entity Relationship Diagram symbol represents entity types

 Ellipses : Symbol represent attributes
 Diamonds: This symbol represents relationship types
 Lines: It links attributes to entity types and entity types with other relationship types
 Primary key: attributes are underlined
 Double Ellipses: Represent multi-valued attributes
