BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE ARE AS

FOLLOW:
S.NO. EQUIPMENT PURPOSE
1. Spark plugs and ignition coils
2. DC Power Supply 12 volt battery
3. (IGBT, V3040p) (INTEGRATED BIPOLAR The charging process of each coil is controlled by
TRANSISTOR ) an insulated gate bipolar transistor.
4. High Voltage Diodes  To independent discharging processes of
each coil, especially when two coils are
not charged and discharged
simultaneously
 To prevent unexpected breakdown
during a charging process.
5. RT-FPGA: A National Instruments real Module was programmed to generate the
time (RT) computer with a field control signal to the IGBT for different charging
programmable gate array durations.
6. AC/DC current probe (Tektronix A622) To measurement of primary current.
7. high voltage probe (Tektronix P6015) To measurement of spark discharge voltage.
8. current probe (Pearson 411) To mesurement of discharge crrent.
9. high-precision oscilloscope (Pico Scope All acquired data were recorded on oscilloscope.
4824) The recording was externally triggered by a spark
energizing command signal from the RT-FPGA
10. Impedance analyzer (E4990A) To measure the inductance, capacitance and
resistance of all components of the ignition
system, and the coupling coefficient kcp of the
ignition coil.
