Description: Malleable Iron threaded fittings.

Comments:

1. The vendor shall demonstrate that the proposed fitting construction and function of
jointing which comply with EN standard EN 10226-1 (ISO 7-1) are compatible with pipes
construction and function of jointing which is comply with ASTM A53/A53M and provide
the required system pressure rating.( All pipe and fittings from different specifications
connecting together in one system shall be compatible of the same wall thickness as the
adjoining pipe).

George Fischer (12 Jan 2020): ASTM A53/A53M is related to pipe thickness, while EN
10226-1 (ISO 7-1) is related to jointing thread type and the fittings provided are rated 25
bars as marked in the catalogue page no. (77) of the submitted catalogue (attached
extracted page fur easy reference).

CGG (Comment still open): the requested from the comment above is the specialist
demonstration of the system rating with respect to different jointing standards between
pipes and fittings.

George Fischer (29 Jan 2020): George Fisher it is not a specialist it is a specified
manufacturer in the approved list which consider inline with the specifications and their
catalogue clearly clarify the standard and the rating pressure.

CGG (12 Feb 2020): Comment still open, the specifications call for "Threaded Joints:
ASME B16.3, malleable iron fittings) that comply with ASTM A53/A53M Steel Pipe,
where the proposed fittings are EN 10226-1, the contractor shall provide full comparison
to demonstrate that the proposed EN 10226 fittings are equivalent to the specified
ASME fittings, also the contractor shall demonstrate the system rating with respect to
different jointing standards between pipes and fittings.

George Fischer (17 Aug 2020): Since George Fisher is listed in the approved list of
manufacturers, EN 10226 is equivalent to ASME, and regarding the rating it will be inline
with all the pipe standards.

2. All fittings that used for firefighting system shall be Conform to FM (AG) or UL (DIR)
requirements.

George Fischer (12 Jan 2020): Conforms to FM, as marked in ca1alkngoo page no. (67) of
the submitted catalogue (attached extracted page fur easy reference).

CGG (Comment still open): a copy of the FM certificate shall be p�,, also local civil defense
approval shall be provided.
 George Fischer (29 Jan 2020): Attached FM Global certificate.

CGG (12 Feb 2020): Comment still open, confirm the FM certificates, also civil defense

approval shall be provided.

George Fischer (17 Aug 2020): We referred to CDD and they have no objection to use such
fittings, but we have no official written approval for that.

3. All galvanized fittings that used for the domestic hot water system shall be certified for
drinking water application where the provided NSF certificate is not specified for
galvanized fittings.

George Fischer (12 Jan 2020): Nothing in contract documents specification calling that the
fittings to be NSF certified, while for galvanized fittings application use for domestic water
is defined and verified in the catalog page (2), and conforms to DINc50930, EN10242 and
ISO 49 as shown in page (78) of the submitted catalog (attached extracted pages for easy
reference).

CGG (Comment still open): Refer to specification section 22 1005 clause 2.1 "Potable
Water Supply Systems: Provide piping, pipe fittings, and solder and flux (if used), that
comply with NSF 61 and NSF 372 for maximum lead content; label pipe and fittings",
where the certificate is essential to ensure that the proposed fitting is suitable for potable
water applications.

Nevertheless, we confirm that the proposed catalog presented that the galvanized fittings
are NSF certified, we ask for a copy of the subject certificate.

CGG (12 Feb 2020): Comment postponed, a list of products related to the
aforementioned certificates shall be provided.

George Fischer (17 Aug 2020): Noted, the requested list has been requested from the
manufacturer and shall be forwarded to your good selves upon its receiving.

4. The contractor shall demonstrate that the Source for all fittings of the same specification
from one manufacturer.

George Fischer (12 Jan 2020): As per current situation and due to shortage of material
delivery for the approved manufacturer (Crane) the new source (GF) introduced to cover
the demand required for site progressing and the two manufacturers are compatible to
all systems that will be installed (Fire, hydronic, plumbing, LPG, fuel, etc.)

CGG (Comment still open): Refer to specification section 22 1005 clause 1.5.H calls for the
same commented above, it's not allowed to use different sources for pipes fittings, the
contractor shall demonstrate for the same.
George Fischer (29 Jan 2020): The fittings are used different systems such as (Fire,
hydronic, plumbing, LPG, fuel, etc.) in which we have the right to provide an alternative
source if the supplier has shortage for delivery.

Post comments: with reference to the List of approved vendors, George Fischer is an
approved vendor for Malleable Cast Iron Threaded Fittings subject that the fittings are
from a European source.
