Recipients: Grade 7 students and non/slow readers in Grades 8-10
Program Content:
 Soar to Success uses fast-paced, structured lessons
focusing on comprehension and decoding strategies,
and is intended for use with small groups led by
teachers.
 Soar to Success: Reading is an intensive reading
intervention program that uses literature,
strategies, and graphic organizers to accelerate
reading growth.
 The program's main features include: (1) small
groups of no more than 7 students meeting for 60
minutes a day, 2 days a week (2) highly structured
instructional plans that combine reciprocal teaching,
graphic organizers and authentic literature that
emphasize reading for meaning and that use a
carefully sequenced series of texts to ensure
student success; (3) and progress assessments via an
ongoing series of "retellings" and oral reading checks
to regularly determine students' progress.

Schedule: Every Friday and Wednesday Afternoon

Materials: Printed Reading Materials and Worksheets
Audiovisual Materials
Program Outcome: Improve student’s reading ability and comprehension.
Students become more aware of how to summarize, clarify,
question and make predictions about their reading.
To develop student’s self-esteem and encourage to aim
higher in studies.
