17/06/2013

DON’T play with electricity!!!

• An electric shock from a mains socket could kill
you.
• Electricity from the mains is a lot of more
powerful than electricity from a battery.
– NEVER stick scissors, pens, fingers or anything else
into a main socket.
– NEVER touch switches with wet hands.
– NEVER use electrical appliances near water.
– ALWAYS hold the plastic part of appliances to plug
in and unplugging.

Electricity saving tips

• Turn off lights when you leave a room.
• Turn off machines when you leave a room (examples include TV’s,
computers, radios, stereos, video games, VCR’s, and DVD players).
• When you go away on a trip, unplug these same machines because they
have stand-by functions that consume electricity even when they are
turned off.
• Fill your dishwasher/washing-machine efficiently and limit the number of
times you run it.
• Don’t put furniture and other things in front of heating and air
conditioning vents.
• Keep doors and windows closed when heat or air conditioning is on.

ELECTRICITY Vocational Training

Joaquin Guerola

If we want to save electricity we have to ...

1. Keep doors and windows opened when heat or air conditioning is on.
2. Switch off machines when you leave a room (examples include TV’s,
computers, radios, stereos, video games, VCR’s, and DVD players).
3. Switch on the lights when you leave a room
4. When you go away on a trip, be sure to unplug machines (TV’s,
computers, radios, stereos, video games, VCR’s, and DVD players)
because they have stand-by functions that consume electricity even
when they are turned off.

5. Put furniture and other things in front of heating and air conditioning
vents.

6. Fill your dishwasher/washing-machine efficiently and limit the number

of times you run it.
