Important points:
1. APPs: An Application is a software designed to do a specific job. App is an abbreviation for
applications.
2. TYPES OF APPs
a) Desktop Apps: These apps can be used on a desktop or laptop.
b) Web Apps: These apps require an internet connection They are usually browser bases and
stored on internet. Google maps, WhatsApp Web etc.
c) Mobile Apps: These Apps are designed to run on smart phones, tablets or watches. Apps have
responsive web designs to adapt to much smaller screen size and orientation of mobile apps.
Apps can be downloaded using App Store or Play Store.
Classification of mobile Apps
Native Apps: Native apps are usually developed for specific operating system and device. Apps
are developed by keeping the device specification in mind are known as native apps.
Hybrid Apps: Hybrid apps have the features of both web apps and native apps. Candy crush,
popular gaming sapps.
