Ex 3: Chia động từ (Verb) trong ngoặc
My cousin ( anh/ em họ hàng), Ron (have) has..a dog. It (be)…is..an intelligent
( thông minh) and beautiful pet with a short tail ( đuôi ) and big brown ( màu nâu )
eyes ( mắt ). Its name (be) is Rex and it (like) like..eating meat ( thịt) . Although
( mặc dù) Rex (bark: sủa)…barks..when strange ( lạ) guests ( khách) visit ( ghé
thăm), it (never/ bite: cắn)…never bites..anyone ( không một ai) ; To be honest
( thành thật mà nói), Rex (be)…is..very friendly (thân thiện) . It (not/ like)…
doesn’t like.. eating fruits ( hoa quả), such as apple, orange, banana, or grape (quả
nho), but it (often/ play)…often plays with them. If the weather (become: trở nên)
…becomes..bad, Rex (just/ sleep)…just sleeps in his cage ( chuồng) all day. Ron
(play)…plays..with his dog every day after school. Because there (be)…are..many

1. CÔNG THỨC THÌ HIỆN TẠI TIẾP DIỄN

1.1 CÂU KHẲNG ĐỊNH
S + tobe + V-ing 
I + am
He, she, it, N số ít + is
They, we, you, danh từ số nhiều + are
=> Ta thấy động từ trong câu sử dụng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn cần phải có hai thành
phần là: động từ “tobe” và “V-ing”. Với tùy từng chủ ngữ mà động từ “to be” có
cách chia khác nhau.

Ví dụ:
They are watching TV now. (Bây giờ chúng đang xem TV.)
She is cooking with her mother. (Cô ấy đang nấu ăn với mẹ của cô ấy.)
We are studying English. (Chúng tôi đang học Tiếng Anh.)
1.2 CÂU PHỦ ĐỊNH
S + tobe + not + V-ing
CHÚ Ý:
– am not: không có dạng viết tắt

– is not = isn’t

– are not = aren’t

===> Đối với câu phủ định của thì hiện tại tiếp diễn, ta chỉ cần thêm “not” vào sau
động từ “tobe” rồi cộng động từ đuôi “–ing”.

Ví dụ:
I am not listening to music at the moment. (Lúc này tôi đang không nghe nhạc.)
My sister isn’t working now. (Chị gái tôi đang không làm việc.)
They aren’t watching the TV at present. (Hiện tại họ đang không xem TV.)

1.3 CÂU NGHI VẤN

Tobe + S + V-ing   ?
Trả lời:

- Yes, I am. – Yes, he/ she/ it + is. – Yes, we/ you/ they + are.

- No, I + am not. – No, he/ she/ it + isn’t. – No, we/ you/ they + aren’t.

===> Đối với câu nghi vấn, ta chỉ việc đảo động từ “tobe” lên trước chủ ngữ.

Ví dụ:
- Are you doing your homework? (Con đang làm bài tập về nhà phải không?)
- Yes, I am./ No, I am not.

- Is he going out with you? (Anh ấy đang đi chơi cùng cậu có phải không?)

- Yes, he is./ No, he isn’t.

- Are they studying English? (Họ đang học tiếng Anh à?)

- Yes, they are./ No, they aren't.

 
3. CÁCH SỬ DỤNG CỦA THÌ HIỆN TẠI TIẾP DIỄN NHƯ THẾ NÀO?
➣ Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra ngay tại thời điểm nói
Ví dụ:
They are watching TV now. (Bây giờ họ đang xem TV.)
Tim is riding his bike to school at the moment. (Lúc này Tim đang đạp xe đến
trường.)

➣ Diễn tả sự việc hoặc hành động nói chung đang diễn ra nhưng không nhất
thiết phải thực sự diễn ra ngay lúc nói
Example:
I am finding a job. (Tôi đang tìm kiếm một công việc.) => Không nhất thiết là
tôi đang tìm việc ngay tại thời điểm nói, nhưng tôi đang trong quá trình tìm
kiếm một công việc (sau khi ra trường hoặc sau khi nghỉ ở công ty cũ.)
He is reading "Gone with the wind". (Anh ấy đang đọc "Cuốn theo chiều gió".)
=> Ý nói cô ấy bắt đầu đọc cuốn sách này từ mấy ngày trước nhưng vẫn chưa
đọc xong, nhưng ngay tại thời điểm nói thì cô ấy không phải là đang đọc cuốn
sách này.

➣ Diễn tả một sự việc đã được dự trù trước cho tương lai (nằm trong kế hoạch)
Example:
I bought the ticket yesterday. I am flying to New York tomorrow. (Tôi đã mua
vé hôm qua. Ngày mai tôi sẽ bay tới New York.)
What are you doing next week? (Bạn sẽ làm gì vào tuần tới?)
➣ Diễn tả hành động thường xuyên lặp đi lặp lại, gây sự bực mình hay khó
chịu cho người nói, thường dùng trong câu có sử dụng “always”
Example:
He is always coming late. (Anh ta luôn tới trễ.)
Why are you always putting your dirty clothes on your bed? (Sao lúc nào con
cũng để quần áo bẩn trên giường thế hả?)
They are always arguing. (Họ luôn luôn tranh luận với nhau.)

4. DẤU HIỆU NHẬN BIẾT

➣ Trạng từ chỉ thời gian
 now: bây giờ
 right now: ngay bây giờ
 at the moment: lúc này
 at present: hiện tại
 at + giờ cụ thể (at 12 o’lock)
Example:

I am not listening to music at the moment. (Lúc này tôi đang không nghe nhạc)
It is raining now. (Trời đang mưa)

➣ Trong câu có các động từ

 Look! (Nhìn kìa!)
 Listen! (Hãy nghe này!)
 Keep silent! (Hãy im lặng!)
Example:

Look! The train is coming. (Nhìn kia! Tàu đang đến.)

 Look! Somebody is trying to steal ( ăn cắp) that man's wallet ( ví tiền). (Hãy
nhìn xem! Người kia đang cố ăn cắp ví tiền của người đàn ông đó.)
Listen! Someone is crying. (Nghe này! Ai đó đang khóc.)
Keep silent! The baby is sleeping. (Hãy giữ yên lặng! Em bé đang ngủ.)

Những động từ không chia ở Hiện tại tiếp diễn:

Lưu ý: Có một số động từ không dùng ở thể tiếp diễn như like, want, need...
Ví dụ:
- I like this book. (đúng)
- I’m liking this book. (sai)
