Political Science includes the actions of every individual who is coordinating, engaging and
contending with other people to deal with arguments over limited means and various desires. It is
the notion wherein mankind chooses who gets what, when and how. Political Science is not only
about the government, it is a wide range of subjects that includes the smallest ideology to the
biggest one, it is a broad topic that discusses politics, relationships between governments and the
processes inside politics. By studying Political science it makes every individual be conscious of
the activities, plans, strategies and decisions of the government. It is also about the behavior of
individuals as they are part of the political society. It is a study about the state and the
government, power and authority and political institutions.

The term Indigenous People pertains to various cultural and social communities that have shared
historical relationships to the environment and lands that they now reside on or have been moved
from. The territory and environmental resources they rely on are fundamental to their origins,
traditions, ways of life, and overall bodily and spiritual health. They frequently follow their
traditional leaders and groups for identification, which are different or unique from others of the
major community or tradition. It is possible that Political Science as a field of social sciences can
take an Indigenous track because for the past years, Indigenous people remained as an important
subject of interest that can help people to better understand the impacts and effects of traditional
leadership and help to compare the authority of indigenous people. It is possible to have
Indigenous track in the Political Science field because they are part of the society and they have
the same and equal rights that we have that the majority don’t know and that some deny.
Indigenous track in the Political Science field will develop a deeper knowledge of traditional
leadership, cultural, and political reality of indigenous peoples. This subject seeks to build
collaboration within the state and people and to promote greater understanding amongst
individuals.

Indigenous peoples are part of our society and they play a big role in sustaining traditional
leadership and a unique way of life. With the help of indigenization in this field we can give
attention and value to the indigenous people. Many people do not understand the concept of
indigenization, but with its help in this field, people will be enlightened and we can give more
value to the indigenous people, their beliefs, knowledge, and tradition. Without indigenization in
this field, attention will not be given to the issues and problems they are facing just like their
rights, liberty as an individual and more.

As a Political Science student we can contribute to this endeavor by writing more research or
thesis paper about Indigenization. Spread awareness through social media platform, written and
verbal platform, acknowledged their part in conservation, cross the wall between practice and
policy, help them stand for their rights, help them voice out to have their rights as they are part of
our society and lastly, help them know their rights as an individual because we all know that not
all Indigenous people have enough knowledge about they rights due to lack of education.
