D. Brief Description of the The Love for Reading Program is an initiative to
Program/Projects/Activities address the literacy needs of the Non-Readers and
Frustration level of learners during pandemic.

This program was started last January 6, 2022. There


were 57 participants listed. However, 1 learner was
transferred to other school during implementation.
Therefore, the total participants were 56.

The teachers visited the selected learners who have


difficulty in reading to teach how to read. Teachers
made localized reading booklet for the learners.
Learners and teachers met every Wednesday for their
reading session at their respective puroks or meeting
place.

All learners were given different approaches based on


their literacy needs. It was observed that there is an
improvement of their reading based on the level of
literacy.

The culmination program happened last May 25,


2022. There was a formal program that was attended
by stakeholders, Brgy. Chairman Sonia Barnachea,
Education Committee Chair Losita Gongob, school
principal, teachers, and learners. All learners were
given certificates to recognize their fruitful efforts in
participating this program. They were given tokens
like notebooks, pencils, and chocolates. The teachers
were also given certificate of recognition for their hard
work in assessing learners with difficulty in reading.
The reading coordinator initiated a feeding after the
program.
E. Objectives a. Address the reading and literacy concerns of
learners belonging to the non-readers and
struggling learners amid pandemics.

b. Provide beginning reading learners


opportunities to learn through different
modalities.

c. Make all learners readers by Grade Level

d. Improve the reading ability of the learners with


frustration level to independent level.

F. Key Results The selected learners with difficulty in reading were


from different stages. The tools used in determining
the improvement of their level in reading were EGRA-
ARATA and PHIL-IRI.

The table shows that there is an improvement of the


learners’ ability to read.

Parents as the stakeholders of this program


contributed a lot. They were the one arranging the
venue and responsible for the cleanliness of the
venue.
