Learning Area MATHEMATICS
Quarter 1

MATHEMATICS
I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of

sequences.

B. Performance Standard
The learner is able to formulate and solve problems involving
sequences in different disciplines through appropriate and
accurate representations.

C. Learning Competency Determine the nth term of a given geometric sequence

II. CONTENT Finding the nth Term of Geometric Sequence
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide pages pp. 23 - 24
2.Learner’s Material pages pp. 28 - 29
3.Textbook pages
4.Additional Materials from Learning
Resource (LR) portal
B. Other Learning Resources Video recording, internet
IV. PROCEDURES

A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the Let the students recall the definition of geometric sequence and
new lesson ask them to give examples.
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Activity 2: Fold Me Up
(Dual Activity)
Discuss the students’ answer to the given guide questions.
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new Present the formula in finding the nth term of geometric sequence.
lesson
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new Present illustrative examples where the unknown is the nth term
skills #1 of geometric sequence.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new Present illustrative examples where the unknown are the common
skills #2 ratio and the number of terms in a geometric sequence.
F. Developing mastery Have a practice drill by giving the students lots of problems to be
(Leads to Formative Assessment 3) solved.
G. Finding practical applications of concepts Pose a real – life problem that can be solved applying the concept
and skills in daily living of geometric sequence.
H. Making generalizations and abstractions Let the students generalize the lesson/activity.
about the lesson
I. Evaluating learning The formative assessment is a board work activity. The evaluation
is done whenever the students participate in a board work activity.
J. Additional activities for application or
remediation
V. REMARKS Mathematics 11 is taken only for four (4) times a week with one
(1 hr) per meeting. Friday is a non-meeting day with the class.

VI. REFLECTIONS
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation who scored below
1
80%
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked
well? Why did these work?

F. What difficulties did I encounter which my

principal or supervisor can help me solve?

G. What innovation or localized materials did I

use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
