Brief History:

1901: Physical Exercise was one of the subjects introduced in public schools & regular
program of athletics was developed.

1920: PE was made a required subject subjects in the curriculum of all public schools.
1937: PE was made a curricular subject in the in the secondary school curriculum. 1969:

The school of Physical Education & Sports Development Act of 1969. 1982: MAPE was

introduced.

Legal Bases of Teaching PE in the Philippine Setting

programs, league competitions, and amateur sports including training for
international competition to foster self – discipline, teamwork, and
excellence for the development of a health alert citizenry.”

throughout the country and in cooperation with athletic club and
other sectors.”

1.Organic – power, endurance of the heart and lungs,


heart regulating mechanism, and digestive and
eliminating organs.
2.Neuromuscular - starts with the skills learned in the
simple play and games of childhood and increase
gradually with the more complex and coordination
of team and individual sport of later years.
3.Interpretative – strengthens the thinking,
interpreting, and problem – solving processes.
4.Emotional – impulses and emotions
