Installation and Start Up of GOC Toolkit

1. Overview

This guide provides a step-by-step procedure for installing a GOC toolkit using the GOC toolkit setup
installation wizard. The GOC toolkit Installation Wizard provides a single feature tree for installation of all
GOC toolkit components so that you do not have to install them individually.

For local installations, you must run GOCToolkit.exe as an administrator. If you install GOCToolkit.exe from
a remote share, you must use a domain account that has read and execute permissions on the remote
share.

2. Prerequisites

1. Windows 7, Windows 10 32-bit /64 bit OS*.


2. Minimum 300 MB disk space.
3. Core 2 Duo, 2GHZ or higher recommended processor.
4. 2GB memory or higher recommended.

*GOC Tool Kit [V1.10.00 and onwards] supports Windows 10 32-bit/ 64 bit OS.

3. Installation Procedure

1. Insert the GOC Toolkit installation media. From the root folder, double-click GOCToolkit- Vx.xx.xx
exe. To install from a network share, locate the root folder on the share, and then double-click
GOCToolkit-Vx.xx.xx exe.
2. The Installation Wizard runs the GOC Toolkit. A welcome page is displayed as shown below

3. On the License Agreement page, review the license agreement and, if you agree, select the I accept
the license terms check box, and then click Next.

To continue, Press Next.

4. On the Select Destination Location, select the path where the Toolkit needs to be installed and then
click Next. To change the installation path, either update the path in the provided Edit box, or click
Browse to move to an installation directory. The default installation path is C:\Program
Files\Mitsubishi Electric India\GOCToolkit\. The dialog shows the required disk space required.

To continue, Press Next.

5. On the Components Selection page, the components are selected for your installation. To continue
press Next.

To continue, press Next.

6. On the Select Start Menu Folder page, select the path of the Start Menu folder and then click Next.
To change the Start Menu folder path, either update the path in the provided Edit box, or click Browse
to move to an installation directory. We strongly recommend not changing the default path.

To continue, press Next.

7. On the Ready to Install page, the Toolkit takes the overview of the settings done in the previous
pages. The user can review the settings. To continue, click Install.

To continue, press Install.

8. On the Install Setup files page, Setup provides the progress of downloading, extracting, and installing
the Setup files.

9. During Install Setup files page, Toolkit checks if CoDeSys is installed on your machine.

If user presses Yes the installation invokes CoDeSys Setup Wizard.

Follow the CoDeSys Wizard Setup to complete the CoDeSys installation.

If user presses No then the installation wizard will continue installing other components.

10. Next, completing the GOC Toolkit Setup Wizard page opens. Press Finish to complete the
installation.

4. Start- Up

1. After completing installation procedure, a new entry is placed in the Start Menu as shown below.

*Depending on the CoDeSys directory selected during the CoDeSys Setup Wizard the Start-up directory of
CoDeSys may be different on user’s machine.

2. Next, run CoDeSys V2.3 and create a new project with Target Settings →Configuration as GOC35
x.xx.xx.(x.xx.xx denotes the version)
3. Save the project to the disk.
4. Execute menu command Project → Options to open Options dialog box.

5. Select Symbol Configuration and check/tick Dump XML symbol table and Dump symbol
entries and click OK button.

6. Select Build and Modify Number of data segments to 3.

7. Ensure that the application is not logged on to the PLC as shown below.

This completes CoDeSys project creation.

8. Click on Resources → Tools as shown below :

The applications under Tools are components of the GOC Toolkit and user can use them for his/her
programming purposes.

• Hardware Configuration*
This tool is used to configure the various units of GOC hardware requirement.
• HMI Configuration*
This tool is used to configure screens as per user requirement.

*For a complete guide about how to use the tools please refer the help by opening the
respective tools.

Language set for “Hardware configuration tool” and “HMI configuration tool” is English only irrespective
of language set for CoDeSys through menu Project → Options → Desktop → Language.

That’s it…..start using the tools.

5. Un-installing GOC Toolkit

Users can un-install the toolkit in two ways .

1. Un-installing from Start Menu :

• Windows 7

Click on Start → All Programs → GOCToolkit → Uninstall GOCToolkit

2. Un-installing from Control Panel → Programs and Features

• Windows 7

Click on Start→Control Panel →Program and Features

*Version changes according to updates and hence it may differ from the above screenshot.
