The current study focused on middle school students' attitudes toward physical

education (PE) and the relationships between PE attitude and numerous personal and

external PE variables. A total of 659 middle school pupils, ranging in age from 12 to 19,

took part in the study. The Physical Education Attitude Scale was developed to assess

teenage students' emotional, cognitive, motivational/behavioral, and

motivational/behavioral attitudes toward PE. Middle school pupils exhibited mixed views

about physical education, according to the findings. When their PE instructor was a man

rather than a woman, female pupils had more positive opinions regarding PE. Male

pupils were more happy with the PE program than female students when the teacher

was female. Female students were more comfortable with the PE curriculum than male

pupils when the teacher was male. Finally, regardless of student gender, students'

attitudes toward PE did not deteriorate as they grew older. The findings offer a fresh

viewpoint on the area, emphasizing the relevance of both the PE curriculum and the

student–teacher interaction. Teachers should be very considerate about their

interactions with students of the same sex to prevent a decline in students' positive

attitudes and encourage positive behaviors toward PE and activities; school

administrators (e.g., principal and PE department head) should focus on providing PE

teachers with special training courses to enhance both their teaching and

communication capabilities to prevent a decline in students' positive attitudes and

encourage positive behaviors toward PE and activities.

According to Jerrwin C. Aguinaldo,The sudden switch in the delivery of lessons from

face to face to online due to the coronavirus-19 pandemic has left educators with

difficulty transitioning their traditional pedagogy to active online learning pedagogy. This

study looked into the challenges encountered by teachers in conducting virtual physical

education in the middle of the COVID19 pandemic that continues to happen today. The

scope is delimited to twenty junior high school Physical Education teachers from Manila

public schools whose students have limited access to technology and have lesser

means to pursue online education. The researcher intended to identify methods and

strategies that the teachers have utilized during the

implementation of fully online learning and their responses to the challenges that they

have encountered. Based on the results, inconsistent Internet connection, lack of space

and equipment, low-level participation of students, and difficulty correcting students’

execution were among the obstacles they faced in online classes. Minimal transfer of

skills and knowledge to students has become the major disadvantage of conducting

online classes while comfort and safety unfold to be its advantages. Although online

learning provided new opportunities for both teacher and learners, it could not match the

effectiveness of doing class activities in the traditional classroom, school grounds, and

the gym. Nevertheless, with the Right activity, creative exercise routines, improved

motivation, and correct instructions from moderators, quality online physical education

can be ensured even after the country’s health situation returns to normal.
