A.) Band Instruments


 Filipinos, by nature are music lovers. They express it by using singing, by
dancing to the beat of songs, or by playing instruments.
 The most common musical group in public celebrations is the band.
 The band is composed of three instrument groups: brass wind instruments,
the woodwind instruments, and the percussion instruments.
 Both brass and woodwind instruments produce sound by blowing through
the mouthpiece.

B.) Music Symbols
1.) Staff- the lines on which musical
notation is written

3.) Treble Clef - The Clef Symbols The Treble Clef is also known
as the G Clef
because the curl in the symbol wraps around the line on the staff that
is named G.

4.) Bass Clef - a symbol placed on the fourth line of a staff to


indicate that the fourth line of the staff corresponds to the F next
below middle C; F clef.

5.) Alto Clef (Viola Clef) - a sign locating middle C on the third line of the staff.

Accidentals are symbols that precede notes and tell us to either raise or lower the
pitch of the note.
(a.) Sharp- raises pitch by one half step
(b.) Flat- lowers pitch by one half step
(c.) Double Sharp- raises the pitch by two halfsteps, or one whole step
(d.) Double Flat- lowers the pitch by two halfsteps, or one whole step
(e.) Natural- cancels the effect of any other accidentals and makes the pitch sound
unchanged.

Dynamic Markings
Dynamic markings are used to describe the volume,or rather the intensity of the
volume of music.

C.) PRINTMAKING AND WEAVING
PRINTMAKING- the art of transferring designs from a stiff surface, like wood or
metal, to a pliable surface, like paper or cloth, by means of pressure.

WEAVING-the craft of making practical Items by interlacing strands of materials
such as strings
In many parts of the world, people make fabrics by weaving on a hand loom.
Materials used in weaving are cloth, strings, sticks, dried leaves, or twigs, and
paper.
Woven items such as bags, hats, ornaments, and placemats are done in different

patterns and designs.


D.) Painting the Beauty of the World
There are places in the community that are naturally beautiful. These places are
located near the lakes, rivers, seas, mountains, hills, caves, or waterfalls.
People love to gather in those places. Some of those places are flocked by tourists
Paintings can preserve the image of the beauty of nature.
Paintings are pictures made with coloring materials like paints.With the use of a
brush and paint, an artist creates images on a surface

Landscape painting, also known as landscape art, is the depiction of natural


scenery such as mountains, valleys, trees, rivers, and forests, especially where the
main subject is a wide view.
Artists vary in their art styles in landscape painting. There are artists who
painted the actual shape and colors of a scenery as they see them. This is called the
realistic painting.
Artists create landscape especially
the scene which is near to his or her
heart---his or her hometown.
The National Artist Fernando
Amorsolo painted the valleys,
rivers, and mountains in his
hometown.
Another National Artist , Carlos “Batong” Francisco loved to paint the rivers, lakes,
and people living around his birthplace.
There are also artists who use cubes to form the shapes of the scenery. They are
called cubists. Cubes generally refers to linear shapes like square, rectangle, and
triangle.
