Selfishness! Crabmentality! Mañana habit! Filipino values that is up until now, we

Filipinos still have such unpleasant ways to treat out fellow countrymen. Letting us on top but
putting others down, intrusting others and letting things be done rushedly, lastly to be selfish with
our fellows. Yes, we hear testaments from people who says that how can I start change when I
will not start it from myself, how can I help others if I cannot help myself, many how but did we
even think, because I myself already had these testaments, did we think of our nation as one? Did
we think that we did not became unfair with those testaments?

With these, I would say that Filipinos did not became one in the freedom of the
country because if they did it then once in for all we are not conquered and ruled by to the
Spaniards multiple times like the Muslims did. We should have been freed from all those
colonizers. Maybe they cannot trust their fellows and cannot support them as well because of
their fear. Maybe because they have seen that they cannot win against the Spaniards upon seeing
their deadly weapon. There are many possibilities, but I will stay neutral about this statement. I
am not putting all the blame on our ancestors. I still salute them for their very couragoeus way of
fighting just to let our country free. I hope that we will be more open about this situation, let
those bad values mentioned vanish way because these could be a mark that will let us down again
and maybe, maybe we can again be colonized if we care all about ourselves and not the country
as one.

With that, all I can say is thanks! Thanks to what this history has contributed to our
country. It maybe in the culture but most importantly to our education and religion. Without
them, we could not know how to educate ourselves, maybe we are still on the lowest peak and
that we have not known that there is one ultimate being who is higher than us.
