EXT.

ROCKETSHIP TOWER (MIDDAY)

Astronaut (JEFF) and his NASA crew are at the top of the tower
prepping for Jeff’s mission (landing on MARS). The wind is strong
and tensions are high, no one knows whether the mission will go
ahead. Jeff’s crew is frantically getting everything ready before
launch with headsets on trying to contact mission control to get
the green light

JEFF

Are we going or not What’s control saying?

CREW

That it’s too dangerous, they’re saying you have to wait for the
wind to stop.

Annoyed Jeff grabs the crew members headset and begins shouting
at mission control

JEFF

We worked too hard and too long for this. I’m going.

He throws off the headset and begins walking towards the rocket.

CREW

Jeff this isn’t a good idea it’s too dangerous.

JEFF

All this shit is dangerous.

He presses a big red button and the rocket door swings opens
he climbs in and begins prepping the rocket for launch
 CREW

Ok I guess we’re doing this.

Panicking, the crew begins to press buttons and set the rocket
for launch

The crew perform their final checks

Crew

Good luck.

Jeff nods

JEFF

Launch it.

INT. MISSION CONTROL CENTRE

The Group Commander is trying to stop the launch as it’s too

dangerous

COMMANDER

Let me talk to him.

Pointing to the controls instructing a crew member to connect him

to Jeff via a radio

COMMANDER

Jeff do not launch that rocket! that is an order the decision has
been made we’re not doing the launch.

Jeff’s crews’ finger is hanging over the launch button

 JEFF

Sorry commander it’s too late.

COMMANDER

Jeff if you live through this I’ll kill you myself.

JEFF

Well if I live through this it will be the greatest scientific

achievement ever.

CREW

Jeff if we’re doing this you have to go now.

JEFF

Send it.

Jeff’s crew hits the launch button and the rockets engines fire
up making a ferocious noise sending shock waves through mission
control

COMMANDER

That son of a bitch.

As he watches the rocket fly into the sky via live video

COMMANDER

There’s no going back now, we may as well help him get there
Check his vitals make sure he’s in good condition.

He grabs a headset and tries to contact Jeff

 COMMANDER

Jeff do you copy.

JEFF

Loud and clear commander, everything looks okay?

COMMANDER

So far so good but don’t push it too hard.

EXT. INSIDE THE ROCKET

The weather is throwing the rocket from side to side making it

hard for Jeff to steer. The weight of gravity crushing down on
him he begins to feel the effects fighting with his body to
stay conscious

JEFF

I’ll try.

Jeff struggles to keep control the rocket, fighting with all his
might

JEFF

This is getting tough I don’t know how long I can keep this up

COMMANDER

No turning back now you’ve almost reached outer space.

The rocket breaks through earth’s atmosphere and the weather

disappears, the rocket levels out and enters a calm state. it’s
silent as Jeff takes it all in.
 COMMANDER

Vitals look good, rocket looks good. Jeff how you feeling?

JEFF

All good commander, see I knew everything would be fine.

COMMANDER

Sure, ok go ahead and get on course for landing

Jeff begins to put in the coordinates for the landing zone and
everything seems to be going well. suddenly the cockpit turns red
and alarms start buzzing.

JEFF

I got a warning light going off in here, what’s happening out

there.

COMMANDER

Jeff we’re picking up something outside the rocket can you see
anything out there?

JEFF

Funny joke commander nothing but stars out here.

COMMANDER

There’s definitely something on radar Jeff and it looks huge.

JEFF

Okayyyyy commander good joke I know you’re just trying to scare

me.
Jeff switches of the alarm and mutes the commander convinced the
commander is trying to scare him, he sits back and relaxes in his
chair taking a sip of coffee.
Suddenly Jeff looks out the window and finds himself heading
straight for a gigantic rock 5x the size of earth

JEFF

Oh shit.

Camera zooms out far and Jeff’s rocket smashes into the rock
making a tiny explosion from afar
