• Open equipment
The VK3200 & MK/MKR100 systems device are open equipments. This
means that the systems may only be integrated in housings or cabinets,
where it can be operated from the front panel.
The cabinet in which the system is installed should only be accessed with
a key or tool and only by trained and authorized personnel.
• Dangerous voltage
Opening the cabinet may expose high voltage parts. Before opening the
cabinet always disconnect the power.

2.1 Configurable button area


Panel PC VK series and monitor MK/MKR series integrate a modular hard-wired
button area that can contain various kind of elements such as buttons, indicators,
selectors and interfaces.
The button area can also contain no buttons but only the cable predisposition for
future elements installation.
The button area is assembled and internally cabled by ASEM.

According to the order, the system can support the following number of ele-
ments:
• Max 8 elements connected to the blocks or 7 elements if the emergency
STOP pushbutton is present.
• 1 emergency STOP pushbutton.
• 1 USB 2.0.
• 1 ethernet.
• 1 RFID.
• 1 buzzer.

2.3 Fieldbus version

• EtherCAT slave module integrated, configurable by CODESYS.


• The max number of installed commands and interfaces, is:
o up to 9 with the 15,6“ LCD.
o up to 11 with the 18,5“ LCD.
o up to 13 with the 21,5“ LCD.
o up to 15 with the 24“ LCD.
• The front commands are connected via a bus-bar to the «EtherCAT slave/lo-
cal master» board.
• The emergency stop button is always connected to the terminal block.
• The interfaces are directly connected to the system.
• Expandable after installation with elements/interfaces predisposition and au-
toconfiguration (no hot-plug).
• Working even with a broken command.
• Power supply input separated by the VK/MK power supply.

4.5 Storing the slaves connected to the busbars


At first power on it is necessary that the BASF card memorizes the position and
type of slaves connected to the busbars.

4.5.1 Procedure:

Dip-switch

• Set switch 1 in “1” position.

• Wait for the BAFC card to arbitrate the busbars (it takes a few seconds).
• Reposition the switch 1 in the “0” position.
