• Flexibility of movement: At IIT Delhi, easy mobility of students from M.
Tech. to Ph.D., M. Tech. to M.S.(R), M.S.(R) to M. Tech. and M.S.(R) to Ph. D.
is possible. It is possible for a student to join M. Tech./M.S. (R) at IIT Delhi,
and subsequently they can apply for a change to a research programme if
they feel confident. In this process, they save a considerable amount of time
for completing Ph.D. degree. Further details are available in the Courses of
Study booklet available on the IIT Delhi website.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
• Submission of Application is only through online procedure. Candidates
are NOT required to send hard copy of the application form and bank
challan. Online submission of the application form may be made by
accessing the Institute website https://home.iitd.ac.in/pg-admissions.php
Candidates belonging to General/OBC/EWS category are required to
pay for each application form a fee of Rs. 200/- and the candidates
belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories are required to pay Rs. 50/-. The
bank charges will be borne by the candidate.
• GATE score cut off criteria used for short-listing candidates in different non-
sponsored (full-time) M.Tech. programmes during the previous academic year is
given in Annexure IV. This is only for the candidate’s reference and the criteria
may even change substantially based on applications received for the current
admissions.

• A.7.1.1) A valid GATE score is mandatory. Passing an additional Test / Interview may be
needed.
• A.7.1.2) Candidates admitted as TA shall not accept or hold any appointment (paid or
otherwise) or receive any emoluments, salary, stipend from any other source during TA
tenure.
• A.7.1.5) Employees on the rolls (with or without pay) of any organization are not eligible for
admission under this category.
• A.7.4.1) A valid GATE score is mandatory. Passing an additional Test / Interview may be needed.
• A.7.1.2) Candidates admitted as RA shall not accept or hold any appointment (paid or otherwise) or
receive any emoluments, salary, stipend from any other source during RA tenure.
• A.7.1.3) Candidates admitted as RA will be considered for a financial assistantships of Rs.13,400 (per
month) for a maximum period of 36 months subject to serving as a research assistant in a course /
laboratory for 20 hours per week as assigned by the concerned academic unit. The assistantship will
be paid on the basis of monthly attendance.
• A.7.1.4) The continuation of assistantship will be subject to monthly attendance and satisfactory
academic performance
• A.7.1.5) Employees on the rolls (with or without pay) of any organization are not eligible for admission
under this category.
• A.7.1.6) The information of availability of RA seats will be available with / published by individual
academic units

• IIT Bombay is the coordinating institute for COAP 2022, and the
participating institutes (23 of them) are: IISc Bangalore, IIT Bhilai,
IIT Bhubaneshwar, IIT BHU, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Dharwad, IIT
Goa, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad,
IIT Jammu, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT
Mandi, IIT Palakkad, IIT Patna, IIT Roorkee, IIT Ropar and IIT
Tirupati.

SALIENT FEATURES OF COAP
• COAP refers to Common Offer Acceptance Portal, on which all Participating Institutes / PSU’s will
upload their offers in a common time window as specified.
• The registered candidates can access the admission / job offers by registering at COAP from all the
participating institutes / PSU’s where they have applied for M.Tech admissions / jobs.
• For admission into M.Tech program in any of the participating institutes or applying for a job in any
participating PSU, every candidate should also apply to the corresponding Institute/ PSU
• To understand the mechanism of looking at all the available offers and making a specific choice out
of the offers, the candidates are advised to read the guidelines and then register at COAP 2022.
• COAP is not an Application Portal for M.Tech admission in any participating institute. Candidates
should apply separately to the respective Institute(s) for M.Tech admission / PSU for the job.
• Each participating Institute / PSU will follow the selection procedure as per the norms and
guidelines of the respective Institute.
• To access and take a decision on the most preferred choice out of the offers (if any) made by
participating Institute(s), each candidate should register at COAP.
• COAP registration is completely free. Note that providing COAP registration number has been
made mandatory by the participating institutes in their M.Tech application portals.
• After selecting an offer of joining / admission with "Accept and Freeze" option, the candidate
should visit the concerned organization's Web Page / Institute's M.Tech. Admission portal for
the subsequent admission / joining procedure. The admission / joining procedure should be
completed by the candidate within the due date specified by the admitting institute / PSU.
• Once a candidate declines / rejects offer(s) in a particular round, the candidate will not be
considered for the same offer(s) thereafter. However, the candidate (either with option 'Retain
and Wait' or with option 'Reject and Wait’) will be considered for the higher preferences, if
any, in the subsequent round(s) of offers.
• 2. Only those candidates who have qualified in GATE 2022/2021/2020 and wish to apply for
M.Tech. admission in any of the participating institutes / job offers in PSUs are eligible to
register at COAP 2022. After successful completion of registration at COAP, a candidate will
be able to access information on offers made by the participating Institutes. Offers will be
uploaded by the participating Institutes / PSU’s at COAP and will be tagged with COAP
registration number.
• 3. Registration will only be successful, when a candidate completes the log-in procedure with
the help of the input received via Email / SMS. Email will contain a website URL for logging-in
along with the log-in ID. SMS will contain the password.
• 4. Candidates are advised to enter all the valid GATE scores (GATE 2022, GATE 2021, GATE
2020), if any, while filling the application.
• 5. Candidates need to click on the SUBMIT button to complete the registration process. The
application process to COAP 2022 is complete only after clicking the "SUBMIT" button at the
first-time login to the candidate’s login account.
