Fluid Return Une Discharge Direction

Use a fluid return line back to the degas-

ser pit (Fig. 10) to prevent the fluid level from
being pumped down below the minimum re-
quired for adequate flow. Keep mud level as
high as possible above the pump inlets. Adjust
the fluid return line so that it maintains mud
level in the pit.

Adjust Depth of Degasser in Pit
Brackets can be bolted in place at six
difTerent height positions. Bracket placement
determines the depth ofthe unit in the pit. The
series of mounting holes on the riser pipe and
pump frame permits a total adjustment of 15".
Existing rig framework can also be modified to
support brackets at higher or lower levels.
When establishing depth of the unit in the pit,
refer to Figure 9 and follow these rules:
l. Locate the unit enough off the bottom
of the pit (2-ft. minimum) lO prevent solids
build up in pump.
2. Elevate spray tank enough to establish
downward slope of the trough so that fluid
flows through it by gravity to the next pit.
. 3. Top ofpump frame tube must be above
the highest potential mud level.

Remove 2 bolts (15/16"wrench). .
