Professor Tomi Laamanen seeks to appoint a 70% full time equivalent Research Associate beginning August 1st, 2011 or later by arrangement. The principal duties of this position are to assist Professor Laamanen in research, teaching and executive education as well as support central exam supervision and grading . In addition, it is expected that the associate will complete his or her PhD degree as a part of the appoin tment. Professor Laamanen teaches Stra tegic Management courses in Master s, MBA and Doctoral Programs. The associate will work at all of these levels, including course development, administration and evaluation. The annual starting pre-tax salary is CHF 58295. Professor Laamanen's research interest s center on strategy processes and practices - i.e. the organizing processes and social practices associated with the formation of strategies at the group, functional, business, corporate, and network levels of analysis. Research streams in this domain encompass a broad range of phenomena, including the role of organizational actors in strategy (e.g. CEOs, top management teams, boards of directors, middle -level and operational managers), strategic decision -making, strategy execution, strategic issues and initiatives, strategic renewal, and the development of com prehensive models of strategy development. Emerging research streams include the micro-practices of strategymaking, the determinants of strategic activity sequences, such as acquisition and alliance programs, roles of CEO or top management team cognition, and the roles of intuition, creativity, and emotions in strategy. Within a 70% full time equivalent post, successful applicants will be expected to conduct project -related research tasks as well as their doctoral studies within the project 's scope. The focus of the doctoral work should fit with the c hair's interest in strategy processes and practices. The doctoral work will be supervised by Prof. Laamanen. Interest or experience in conducting high quality research using quantitative and/or qualitative methods , participating in international conferences and publishing in premier journals Mastery of both written and spoken English and German
