Directions: Read the sample academic texts below and identify the errors in the use of the academic
language. Explain and expound your answer.

This academic text is informal
and conversational in tone.We
should consider replacing those
people and some more in this text
with a clearer expression. Why don't
we come up with new terms to make
it better? Instead of wouldn't and
there's, it should be would not and
there is . When writing an academic
text, it must be formal. We should
avoid contractions and any phrases
that sound like you're just having a
friendly conversation.
This example of academic text
generally refer to yourself as the
performer of actions. We must avoid
using personal pronouns ‘I’ and
‘we’. I have noticed that there were
still constractions that must needed
to be avoided.The sentences must be
well organized for the reader to
avoid being confused.We better use
linking ideas and a proper use of
punctuation marks. We must be
careful when writing words in this
type of text because every word we
will write represents the whole text.
This sample of an academic text is
impacted by personal opinions. This
material must be factual and
objective.We should keep our
writing clear and to the point.Try to
think of high descriptive words to be
strong in detail.It is excellent if our
text is concise but meaningful rather
than broad but deficient in key
elements.
