your friends and family who live in the United States.

Date of sending: July 31, 2020

Date of Delivering: August 21, 2020 on whatsapp group.

STEPS

1. How do you write a postcard?

To begin with, the shape and structure of a postcard is simple and very practical, but
you have to think about how a postcard is written and what parts of it are. In the
following model, you will see how the structure of the postcard is briefly divided and
from there, you must write your own.
For this classroom project for improving your writing, you are required to write a postcard from
where you are, in which you explain the following aspects: Begin by writing your message to the
recipient, which should take just the left side of the postcard. Write something cheerful about
your day, your hobbies and the place where you are…

How is the place where you are? -What are you doing?
How was your experience?
2. Write a postcard to a friend who doesn’t live in Colombia in 70 words. Tell
him/her about your town. Use the ideas in the text below about Prado to help you.
Then, record a video by reading your postcard and showing it.
Dear Sebastian

Have you ever been to Prado? It`s a beautiful

town.
It`s got some amazing places such as "THE
ENCHANTED LAGOON"…
I`ve visited …
I`ve never been to…
I`m planning to visit…
I think the most beautiful place is…
I hope you can come one day and see my
town.

Love,
Adriana
3. STRUCTURE OF A POSTCARD
The structure of a postcard is very simple. Writing a postcard is quick and easy, just
grab a nice postcard, a pen and some stamps, and let's get started! Here's how
postcards are commonly written:
The front of a postcard contains a picture about where you usually stay a museum, a
landscape, etc. The back part is where we write our message, it is divided into two: the
left and the right.

On the left side of the postcard, we find:

 Body: This is where we write our short
message.
 Mailing Address: We write the recipient's
address.
 Greeting: In the greeting we include the
recipient's name "dear Mum" "Hi David”...
 Closing: The farewell is usually formed by
a word or a few short phrases such as
"much love", "See you soon", "Wish you were here" etc.

On the right side of the postcard, we find:

 Stamp: The stamp is pasted on the upper right
 Sender's Name: At the end of the letter we write our name, so that the person
who receives the postcard can read and understand very well.
4. Other things to keep in mind when writing a postcard:

 Forget the formality, a postcard is always written to known people, so it is more

personal.
 Never forget to sign it. Write your name clearly so that the recipient knows who it
comes from.
 Don't put anything too personal. Postcards can be read by anyone, so this is not
the right place for that. Anyway, if you want to include something personal, don't
forget to send it in an envelope.
 Make sure it can be read well; take care of your penmanship.
 Remember, postcards should be short.
