INTRODUCTION TO THE PHILOSOPHY OF

THE HUMAN PERSON

SIR. LEO SEPADA

PREPARED BY: CRISTINE JANE V. CUEVA

"THE Socrates never failed to amaze me with
his philosophy. Socrates' philosophy
reminds us that life is all about

UNEXA- decision-making and, as a senior high

school student preparing for college, I
see these statements as my motivation to

MINED always think twice before I make a

decision. My future is in my hands. The
life that I want depends on my decision-
making, and now that I am preparing

LIFE IS for college, I'm starting to think about

what course I have to pursue until I
become successful. I know if I'm going to

NOT decide during my college period, it

might be hard to study, and there's a
possibility of having to shift to another

WORTH course if I didn't think wisely. If that

happens, there are a lot of people who
will be affected, especially my parents

LIVING" and also my future. It's a lot of a waste

of time if I didn't choose wisely, so
imagine the problem you've created if
your decision-making is unexamined.
That's where what Socrates says comes
in. "The unexamined life is not worth
-SOCRATES living."
"HE WHO HAS A
WHY TO LIVE FOR
This quote by one of my favorite philosophers, Friedrich Nietzsche,
CAN BEAR ANY
serves to remind me of what it is that I am here for. I'm a senior in
high school and a prospective college student, so when I wake up ALMOST ANY
every morning I consider what I can accomplish today and what I
can accomplish more of tomorrow. What will eventually occur to
me? Every time I consider it, I always say that if I have a purpose
in life and a goal to pursue my dream, I will get past any
HOW"
challenges that stand in my way. Let's imagine that I am a young
child with many aspirations for the future, one who desires to
emigrate with my family to a new country. I want to spoil them
and treat them the way my family deserves to be treated. I am
aware of how precious life is, and as long as my loved ones—
particularly my parents—are alive, I will do everything in my
power to succeed and make them proud of me. They will
eventually leave our side, and I don't think I'm ready for that. I
made a promise to myself that before I started a family, which I
know will happen someday, I would finish my education and
become a successful nurse. My life's objectives are crystal clear to
me, and I am confident that I can endure almost any setback
without quitting.

-FRIEDRICH NIETZSCHE
