RIZAL THE REDEEMER?

Many people believed that Rizal was considered the one who liberated the Filipinos
from the Spanish tyranny. Do you believe in this argument? If yes, why do you think so?
If not, who do you believe liberated us from the Spanish tyranny?

No, I don’t believe in this argument because although Jose Rizal had contributed a lot to
exposing the tyranny of the Spaniards, it was during the rebellion of Filipinos led by
Emilio Aguinaldo that we were freed from the Spanish tyranny. Thus, celebrating
Independence Day from the Spaniards on June 12, 1898. In December of the same
year, the Philippines was sold to the Americans by Spain through the Treaty of Paris.
