1. Use the complex variables method to solve the differential equations:

2. If the functions u(x,y) = ex cos y and v(x,y)=- ex sin y are two complex
conjugates of the complex function w  f (z ) . Show that u and v are both
harmonic functions, while function w  f (z ) is not analytic.
