III. Venue:

IV. Participants:

Grade 7-10 students
V. Objective/s:
to enhance vocabulary power and spelling of the students through game
VI. Narrative:
As part of the school’s celebration of Buwan ng Wika 2022, Filipino Department, through
the collaboration of SAGIP and SIPAT, spearheaded an activity called Pinoy Lingo. Pinoy Lingo
used the game mechanics of the game BINGO but instead of numbers, words related to Filipino
lessons were used. Here are the mechanics:
1. Students will be given a blank Pinoy Lingo card consisting of a 5x5 table with the
letters P, I, N, O, and Y written above each column.
2. The teacher will present set of words for each letter which students will randomly write
on their cards. Students have the discretion to decide the placement of the words on
the card.
3. When the students’ cards are already full of words, the teacher will then present a
certain pattern that students must make in order for them to win the game.
4. The game proper will start when the teacher draws out a question and students need
to find the answer on their card. Once they find the correct answer, they need to
encircle it until they will form the needed pattern.
5. Even if a student wins first, the game will still continue until all questions are already
asked.
Since the activity is expected to be conducted during Filipino class hours, teachers
embedded this activity in their lesson plan as an assessment of their lesson for the day. Hence,
scores obtained from this activity will be recorded.

V. Objective/s:
to orient teachers about the conduct of two stages of Phil-IRI (Group Screening Test and

to provide teachers with the needed materials for the conduct of the two stages of Phil-
IRI
VI. Narrative:
In compliance with the DepEd Caloocan Division Memorandum 433, s. 2022 entitled
“Division Schedule of Activities on the Administration of the Revised Philippine Informal
Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI),” our school, through the Filipino Department, will be
conducting Phil-IRI-related activities for the month of September-October. As part of the
preparation, two sessions of school-based orientation were conducted last September 12,
2022, led by Ms. Angelica D. Agunod, SAGIP Coordinator. The orientation revisited the
processes of the first two stages of the Phil-IRI. The processes are as follows:
Based on the data of GST, the Reading Coordinator will inform the Filipino
teachers who among their students got a score lower than 14 and will undergo
the Oral Test.
The Oral Test may be conducted during class hours (given that discussions will
not be interrupted or teachers will give the class with activities), or before/after
class hours (given that teachers will secure a permit from the parents.)
Teachers will be given the Oral Test Result Form where they will record the
miscues exhibited by the students, their total reading time, and the
comprehension test scores.
The Oral Test should be done on a one-on-one basis, so teachers have the
discretion of scheduling their students.
