III. Presenting Problem

”After nawala si mama, namatay sya mismo sakoang atubangan tungod sa terminal
illness kay wala ko kasabot na sa kinabuhi. Wala nakoy gana mukaon, pati sa pagligo
kailangan pako pugson, gusto ko sigeg higda. Gikapoy ko mubangon kay kabalo ko
wala na si mama. Gikapoy nako sigeg hilak. Sakit kaayo wala ko kasabot. Wala nako
kabalo unsay feeling malipay. Tanan tao na mupakita nako ug care and love kay di na
nako maappreciate kay wala naman ko kabalo unsaon na pag dawat. Puno ug sakit
and anger akoang heart.Gusto na gani ko mamatay”

The subject’s entire world seems to have fallen apart after the death of the only parent
he grew up with. When the mother died the subject stopped doing his usual activities
and just wanted to end his suffering however doesn’t seem to have a specific plan on
how to end his life. With this statement the client shows symptoms of depression.

IV. Developmental Background

A. Family Background

FATHER - Douglas, works for Crime Investigation and Detection Group. The
client didn’t grew up with his Father because of some circumstances.

The subject’s father wasn’t there when he grew up, according to the client he
only showed up once when he was just a baby only to give money for his
hospitalization and then disappear right after.

MOTHER - Anna, a graduate of nursing but became a stay at home mother after
the client was born because the client had a numerous seizure and convulsion.
She was a Roman Catholic. She is a very hands on mother to her two children.

The mother died due to terminal illness last 2019.

B. Birth Circumstances

We spoke to the eldest child on behalf of their mother. She said that their mother
discovered late that she was pregnant with the client/subject. When she found out
about it she tried to hide the pregnancy because upon telling the boyfriend, she
found out the guy was married. The pregnancy became emotional and stressful
because of this. Andrei was born via C-section, the client had series of seizure
and convulsion at the age of 2 weeks, he had meningitis and later on had ADHD.

C. Childhood History

The client had a tough childhood that composes with constant admission to
hospital and no interaction with people outside the house. The client was often
showered with toys so that he wont mind not being outside. The grandmother and
the mother are both strict with his activities because the doctor advised them to
mind his head because it might trigger some seizure.

D. Education Background

Nursery up until his elementary years the client was always accompanied by his
mother in school. It was during his kindergarten years that he discovered his
talent in drawing. When he was in grade five the mother was no longer able to
accompany him because of the illness, it is in this time that the client felt anxious
because he doesn’t understand why the mother is no longer with him at school.
So from that day when he goes home from school he no longer hangs around with
his mother because he thought she just doesn’t want to come with him.

During 1st year high school, the client became so anxious about the new
environment and lazy with his modules. But the client kept stating that when he
grew up he would become a police officer.

E. Medical History

He had seizures and convulsion during his early years. Had meningitis and
ADHD. And recently had an acute gastritis.

F. Social Functioning

He sees himself both as introvert and extrovert depending on the people he is

with but most of the time when he is comfortable with the person he opens up a
conversation easily but still finds it hard to have a topic that could be a common
ground. He easily gets anxious when trying to do something new or something he
isn’t good with. When around people he knows for a long time he sees himself
being goofy around them but also gets too sensitive when someone brings up
about his mother.
G. Personality Dynamics

He described himself as someone who is short tempered. He hates being reminded of

doing his chores or when his family members would constantly correct his behavior.
He also doesn’t like the idea that when he speaks his mind his grandmother would
shut him down by not listening to him or by questioning his point.

H. Work Methods

In terms of work, he finds it quite difficult because he easily gets losses his focus
because of his ADHD. One time he and his sister got into a fight because of it because
he wasn’t able to finish one work and then started the other one or would not do it at
all because he forgot about it or is too lazy to do it.

I. Hobbies and Interests:

The subject is indulge in drawing on his spare time or playing with his collection of
pellet gun. He is interested in watching Marvel movies but would constantly keep on
rewatching The Probinsyano because according to him he idolize Cardo because he
isn’t afraid of anyone and would fight for what he believes is right.

J. Sexual Orientation

Without any hesitation the client identified his self as male. “akong suot kay panlalaki
jud na, akong sapatos panlalaki pati akong mga hilig panlalaki jud na so straight jud
ko na lalaki” as stated by the client.

K. Aspirations and Philosophy

”Never be afraid when you know that you’re right” is the clients response when he
was asked about this section.
