MJ – Oo

Charville – So I’m Charville Sean C. Jalandoni your interviewer, I have 4 questions po, the first one is
What is/are the specific computing devices you use in your work?

MJ – Ahm, required ba akong sumagot ng tagalog?

MJ – ahm, usually sa trabaho ko bilang virtual assistant ang major na kailangan naming is, Computer-
syempre desktop or laptop(?) tapos di lamang kami limited sa isang screen so gumagamit rin kami ng
extra or additional- mga monitors, para mapadali trabaho namin.

Charville – Do you encounter difficulties using computing device/s?

MJ – of course, ah normal yon sa pag gamit ng mga device kase bukod sa hardware troubles minsan
nagkakaroon rin ng mga troubles sa software, sa compatibility issues ganyan, di sila compatible sa gamit
mong device tapos sa ano naman, sa hardware side, minsan, syempre normal dahil ang moving parts ng
computer ay nagkakaroon ng exhaustion na naglelead sa sira, nasisira ang mga parts ng computer kaya
magkakaproblema ka talaga, di mo maiiwasan yun pag nag tatrabaho ka gamit ang computer.

Charville – What are the benefits of using computing device/s?

MJ – actually ang major benefit nyan is pinapadali nya ang buhay ng tao. Anong way? Ahm di lang
naman kasi limited ang computing device sa computers, ahm, actually ang pag email, dati kasi
gumagamit tayo ng telegram, dati umaabot pa ng ilang days bago makarating ang data sa recipient mo
yung message mo. Unlike now, using electronic email, seconds lang makakarating na yung message mo
sa recipient mo. Ano pa, ahm, in terms of computation, dati gumagamit abacus, ngayon meron na
tayong calculators kung iaano natin sya is, device sya or machine sya when it (not sure) calculator, pero
pag nagging software na sya, it becomes the computer software. Ahm ano pa, actually yun talaga ang
purpose ng computing device, make everything digital. Lahat may footprints tayo sa digital world.
Ultimo yung physical address mo na ssave na sya sa IP Address so anytime pwede ka ma-trace kung saan
talaga ang location mo.

Charville – what would be the status of your company if computing device/s do not exist?

MJ – Manual syempre, mahirap. Ah, kami nag a-assist ng mga customer so pag ka wala kang gamit na
computer device, mag rarely ka sa papel, which is prone sya sa troubles, kumbaga, mawawala ang mga
data mo pagnagkaroon ng baguio or natural disaster or human error pero ganon din meron din tayong
ganong part sa pag gumagamit ka ng computing devices prone ka rin, human error, natural calamity, ano
pa, ah, hardware trouble, nawawala parin ang data natin so may downside parin either way. Kaya kung
ikukumpara, may pros and cons tayo sa computing device. Ahm, ano pa, downside pag di ka gumagamit
ng computing device? Hustle. Diba nga ang trabaho ng computing device is padaliin ang trabaho. Kung
wala kang Computing Device, like humahandle ka ng records, ng mga data, actually nasa ano yang mga
yan, naka index sila, nasa isang library, physical Library, kumbaga para kang nasa library ng school pero
ang laman ng library na yun is mga information ng mga tao. So pagka kailangan or may nag inquire saiyo
at kailangan mong hanapin yung data ni, Charvs ganyan, so pupunta pa ako sa ibang room para hanapin
yung file mo. Naka isang folder iyon, na hahanapin ko pa, di ko alam kung saang cabinet, naka index yun,
sabihin mo na may millions na tao, naka compile yung record nila, ilang Charville ang naka record don,
ilang Charville Jalandoni ang naka record don, tandan mo unique ang information ng isang tao, so kung
ganon karami ang data mo, mahihirapan ka talaga pag naka manual ka. Yun ang Gawain non (Computing
Device) mas mabilis icompile, itrack at iintroduce ang record.

SUMMARIZATION OF THE INTERVIEW

The person I interview works as a Virtual Assistant to customers in a specific company (they are call
center agents). Mr. Albiento said that Computing has a big impact especially in these modern days.
Using a computing device (hardware and software) helps him and his company to finish their task in
their job- to assist their customers virtually. But even thou Computing helps them, they also encounter
difficulties in using Computing Device. Mr. Albiento said that it’s not just the hardware that has
problems, but also the software they use. Sometime the software isn’t compatible with the device they
use and in Hardware they are sometimes exhausted because they are moving parts that can lead to
wreckage of a part. Mr. Albiento also said that without Computing, especially nowadays, it will be hard
to deal with. He explains that if computing didn’t exist, we will rely to manual, which are prone to
troubles. He says that even now that we have computing device, it’s still prone to troubles, like human
error or natural disasters like earthquake- that will destroy your device. So, the impact of computing to
their industry is so BIG that they are so thankful that computing devices were made or exist. He says to
me that the purpose of Computing Device is to make our lives much easier than the past.
