Clean each of the measurement holes with the help of the ‘Tool Cleaning Brush
Analyzer Rotor’. In particular clean the so called ‘100% measurement holes’ (in-
between the cuvette measurement holes)

Let the rotor air-dry. If available compressed air can be used to dry the rotor.
TIP: Do not clean or dry the rotor using a tissue or a cloth. Residues from the tissue or cloth
may settle inside the measurement holes. This may force photometer errors like ‘Photometer
lamp error’ and/or ‘End of photometer lamp lifetime reached’.

Install System Software V4.2.x

TIP: The software update or software re-installation does not influence the existing database. However,
for safety reasons, it is recommended to export the database to the USB memory stick prior to any
software installation (if possible).

1-Verify that the necessary system software files and software patch files are available
on the c 111 USB memory stick: (Normally the files are stored in the folder “USB drive >
dist”

Software V4.2.1.1630:
- c111swv42_serie.tar
- c111swv42_serie.tar.md5
- c111ServicePatch421.tar
- c111ServicePatch421.tar.md5

(All 4 files must be available.)

Software V4.2.2.1730:
- c111swv422_serie.tar
- c111swv422_serie.tar.md5
(both files must be available)
2-For safety reason, backup the existing database: Database and Make sure the system is in the mode
“Standby”. Make sure the system is in the mode “Standby”.

3-Choose “Utilities > Import > Software” and confirm with OK.
The below shown window will pop up.
Click the button "Cancel" to skip a forced controller software download .
(For more information concerning the “forced controller software download”, refer to
chapter Forced Download Controller Software.)
6.
When prompted, connect the memory stick to the front USB connector and press OK
The display shows the root directory of the USB stick.
Browse to the folder containing the system software file: E.g. /dist/.
Highlight the corresponding file and press <OK>

Software = V4.2.2.1730
c111swv422_serie.tar (complete system software, does not need any software patch)

After completion, the instrument will automatically shutdown and reboot.

Only if the system reboots automatically, the software installation was
successful. (Ignore any messages on the touch sceen such as “... software update
finished...”.)
TIP: If after 15 minutes the instrument has not rebooted, the SW update failed.
Switch off the instrument and repeat steps 4 to 9.
10.
Wait until the instrument has reached the status "Standby”. Disconnect the memory
stick from the front USB connector.
11.
In the <Overview> tab click on the <System Status> icon, scroll down (or make a print
out) and verify the system software version “Version: 4.x.x.yyww”

Import Database Procedure:

TIP:
When importing a database, all reagents on the reagent disc are marked as removed. Reagents
which are on the reagent disc after a database import, are unknown to the instrument and
cannot be removed via the normal user interface function.
=> If possible, remove the reagents from the reagent disc before importing a database. Store
them temporarily at a save place.
=> Reagents unknown to the instrument have to be removed manually:
- Switch of the instrument.
- Remove the reagent bottles manually one by one, by turning the reagent disc by hand. Store
them temporarily at a save place.
- The reagents can be loaded after the import of the database again.
